Android Auto Radio

I've a budget of around four hundred euro and am looking for advice on buying a car stereo that works with Android Auto. I want to use it mainly for google maps etc.

I've a 08 Mondeo.

Any places around either Galway,Athlone or Dublin that specialise in them and won't rip you off?

Halfords do a pioneer unit that should be around 450... i bought their mid range unit at from amazon.de

Hey Mick, hows that working for you now. Have a 9th gen civic and was thinking of getting a an android auto DIN my self.
Do the phone controls work and can you trigger voice actions from the steering wheel?

The steering phone buttons don't work but volume and skip and source etc do.. To be honest the radio is so close its as easy to press mic icon on the screen...very happy with the radio.. Spotify, deezer etc great once you have all you can eat data... Having Google maps for navigation is also really nice..

in the pic of the back of the unit there is 1 wire marked steering wheel controls.?
one wire?must need more than that

Yeah it's an Eonon Chinese Android headunit from Amazon shipped from UK. The headunit is brilliant. I use use Spotify and Google Maps in the car by tethering mobile data from my phone using WiFi. I have a subwoofer wired up and the audio quality is great. Radio stalk near the steering wheel still works as well. It's even able to so diagnostic OBD scans using a Bluetooth OBD tool.

Would recommend it to anyone. Waiting for 4x Alpine door speakers to arrive to finish it off.

I'm 99% sold on it.
What way does the reversing cam connect?usb?

Yeah you can get Eonons for VWs too and it will come with a plug and play Canbus module for the steering controls.

The reversing camera connects using a yellow tulpe video connector similar to what we used on TVs 10 years ago plus a 12 volt feed to power the camera when the car is on.
