It's my favourite farming event of the year, I'd prefer it to the ploughing, will probably spend most of the day drooling over the livestock.
    So who's going?

Go every year. Hope to go this year as well.
A lot of people in the locality go as well every year.
Like the invention section as there's usually something new to see.
The cattle are top class though especially the commercials.
I poke me head into the mile long bakery tent and marvel at all the cakes and buns.
The farm produce is good and see who has the longest carrot and parsnips and then turf, hay, barley, etc.
Very good show. Try not to miss it.

Going to miss it this year, going to Greece the following week so trying to keep a few euro together. Highland show is worth a trip for the stock alone some time aswell tanko.

We usually go about 1 every 3 years and this is the year we should go but we will go to to the ploughing instead cos we've never been at it and its a lot closer than carlow

The last few years, the wife and I end our holidays there and this year is no different bar a nearly 2yo that will refuse buggy And demand to be carried by only daddy.

Hoping to make the trip. Always a great day out, less walking and dodging crowds than the ploughing.

Probably poke in head into the show for a look

Been a regular to Tullamore the last few years. Love the livestock judging, great debates with my father when we look at a class and try and pick a winner! Amazed there has never been anyone injured at the show though....It's a great family day out but some people are very naive around cattle! I find Tullamore the worst for it

150 of my hoggets being used in the shearing competition again this year, got them crutched on monday,
It was hard to have them dry for it last year and it looks similar this year.
Won't be showing this year so might give it a miss, was always intending to go to the vintage in moynalty on the same day,
So might this year, will be very hard to avoid being pulled in to help on the day in Tullamore when they cop I'm not showing

no, my shearer does it, seems they have to be done a particular way, one blow over the udder and two up the legs and over the tail or something like that.
Most are just after been weaned, some very thin, don't feel as bad after seeing what they were shearing in the competitions at the welsh show

Only went once since moved site. The original site in charleville sitecwad in my opinion a far superior site to the current one.. last time i went it got frustrating looking over hills to find different breeds etc. Won't head this year maybe again in a few years time.

I found it easier last year to find the different breeds, they all were in one line across a field. Think they had changed the layout cause I remember having to walk over hills too to go from Charolais to Salers 2 years ago!

they flattened that field even more for last years show
they moved out of necessity after 2 years of flooding and an increasingly awkward landlord

I think it's promising enough. Dry and low 20s is what I hear.
It's overcast here this evening but warmish.

Poultry, arts and crafts, farm and garden produce, photography, home produce, vintage tractors and machinery, forestry, etc...this is a big show.
Really by right you'd need 2 days to see everything properly.

But it's still better all on the 1 day.
