Hey folks. Wondering if anyone can help. I have a 9 hour trip coming up in a few weeks and want to watch some TV while I'm traveling. I've an android box which came with a rake of preinstalled adfons and I'm pretty happy with the setup.

I downloaded Kodi for my phone today in preparation for my trip, but I cannot for the life of me install any addons. All online instructions from trusted sources are proving fruitless.

Then I had a thought, maybe I can clone the Kodi from the box to my phone, but I haven't the foggiest how to do it or if it's even possible.

Anybody wanna enlighten me on this and how to do it? Much appreciated.

You need to download the backup add-on from the official repo. Go to system> settings>add-ons>search it'll find backup. Install it then configure what you want it to backup and where. Then on your phone install the same backup add-on and restore instead of backup and you're done.

So, I can back up the box to Google drive and restore it from the same place without ever having to hook either the box or the phone to my laptop???

Not sure about Google drive as there may be some issues with file types. You can back it up o to an sd card and then put that into your phone.

I'll chance Google drive first as I don't have an SD card adapter. Cheers guys.

There is also a way of backing up using Dropbox but I've never managed to figure it out
