I've been single for a while now but I miss the way my ex would randomly buy me clothes. She always got the size right and always bought things I loved wearing.

Randomly comes home with my favourite magazines; about ten of them!

Often comes home with chocolate or flowers.

Always picks up the latest Now CD, which he knows I love, without it being a birthday/Christmas pressie.

He is really great when I'm sick, too, and will fuss over me like a mother hen.

He's great and I love him very much and I don't care if that makes me sound corny. I'd be lost without him and I think it's nice that he cares that much about me.

I see so many people in unhappy relationships and it makes me thankful for what I have.

Well until OH had a broken foot four weeks ago, all the vacuuming, all the weeding on the driveway and out the back, all the mopping of floors was done.

I now have to do it MYSELF.

Digs

Amongst other things he fills the nespresso water filter for me every morning and puts a pod in the machine ready to go.

He'd go to the ends of the earth for me and our girls, he's a fantastic father and husband and to be honest I really count myself so lucky to have him (even if I'm 100% positive I wreck his head half the time, he very very rarely tells me I do).

She's just had back surgery, so not much right now.
I'm doing it all at the moment, it's times like this that you really appreciate what they do the rest of the time.

It's still early days but he's been wonderful. He's sent me flowers, brought me medicine and treats when I was ill, double checks my shoelaces (don't ask) before we go for a run, has learned to make the perfect cup of tea, shows up at work with my favourite sandwiches, sends me just enough texts to let me know he's thinking of me, but not enough to smother me, didn't laugh when I walked into a pole even though he wanted to, takes a big interest in my job, tells me things he likes about me, worries about me travelling, made a big effort to get along with my cousin/best friend to the extent that they're now friends independently of me, and always texts to see if I need anything picked up before he comes over, and is a giver of exceptional cuddles.

Im lucky I have a good husband. He doesn't take pictures of his lad anyway so that's a plus

He's great at chopping timber, doing manly stuff like opening jars. He makes me decent coffee too and does great shoulder massages.

He puts my pjs on the radiator/in the dryer when I'm in the shower. He brings me and picks me up every day from my train. He washes my hair in the shower, and once ended up dying his hands purple from trying to put a colourbomb in my hair.
He sings songs to me in the mornings when I wake up grumpy. He cuts my toenails because I hate cutting my own toenails. He will patiently sift through a mountain of photos helping me choose stuff to buy online when he has absolutely no interest deep down. If I'm having a horrible dream and can't sleep he'll get up with me if I'm upset. He fixes all my technical things. He'll make a bubble beard for me in the shower. He will drive long distances to get me if I miss my train, I get sick or am sad. He buys me cute little random things he sees that he knows I'd like. He has no shame when it comes to emergency buying knickers/pjs or tampons. And he likes cuddles as much as I do.

The list goes on. She's a pretty incredible woman. It's making me reflect and really hope I treat her as good as she treats me...

He doesn't get angry with me when I call him in a panic every second day over something stupid and is trying his hardest to teach me french even though I'm crap

My boyfriend is lovely. We are only together about 7 months but we get along pretty well. He gets me drinks, we chat away and watch movies together. He gives me regular back massages (I get pains a lot). He cooks for me. He helps me a lot when I'm sick too, which is great because I get sick quite frequently and it's good to have someone around who can help. He only lives down the road too so it's handy

However, he HATES cuddling and I LOVE cuddling so I don't know how this is going to work out We cuddle anyway, and I think he is getting used to it.

So many things but it's the little things that matter the most. The things I almost forget to notice after so long. He makes me coffee every morning before work, even the mornings that he doesn't have to be up as soon as my alarm goes off he gets up and makes coffee and he actively indulges my period cravings without any judgment, sometimes that means eating a whole big bar of dairy milk without offering to share.
This is a lovely thread.

He'll do anything for me, and he has never once complained. (He's one of those awful laid back people who doesn't get bothered by anything.) He's had a tough few years (actually more than a few years!) of constant pain and it doesn't stop him doing things for me when he thinks I need it. I'll do anything for him too, but he's a much better person, much more selfless person than I am and I have no idea why he married me really. (I think it's because I bake things for him.)
