Well I'm doing nothing, as in, I'm not going away anywhere.

But it's my birthday this weekend, so I'd say there will be SOME enjoyment to be had around the city. Yikes!

Anyway, just wondered (and being nosy) what people get up to, or where they go in the High Summer Weekend.

Wow, straight off you set the bar VERY high!

Funny enough was in Howth myself today, did the cliff walk (downhill from the Summit, clever eh?) and had lovely lunch in the Bloody Stream under the Dart Station.

Is EVERYTHING in Howth run/owned by Wrights, LOL.

    Beautiful day, great walk.

Hope you have a great weekend.

You will not be the only one I reckon there!

I'm working tomorrow. Sunday were having his parents come to ours for dinner but my best friend text to see if I wanted to go with her early on Sunday for liquid brunch. I can resist everything but temptation

Could be a great way of getting the OH to cook dinner first, and leave the In Laws to watch the cooker, while s/he rescues, or joins you at the Brunch!

Ah only having a laugh. Enjoy, hope the weather stays good.

Happy Birthday for yesterday. Hope you enjoyed it.

Mine on Monday. Fekkin hell, always on a Bank Hol when everyone is going here there and yonder.

But still, who cares really except OH and me. And TBH I don't give a rats ass.

    What's another year?

That "nothing" can be more relaxing than planning, packing the bags, getting things sorted, sweating on a motorway or whatever mode, and arriving wrecked.

Sometimes, NOT doing what everyone else thinks you should be doing is very liberating.

Absolute nightmare for me. A 5 hour journey to kerry with herself and the kids for a weeks holiday.

I'm blue in the face telling people - if you go on holidays with kids it's not a holiday. Basically it's somewhere new for them to fight, moan, fight, cry, fight, complain and fight.

    Do you ever get seasick?

I do. So even reading about sea crossings makes me go whoa.

But I have made it several times with a bit of a struggle. Feet up off the floor is the best advice ever.

Don't suppose that matters to YOU (lol) obviously have sea legs.

I have no plans. My wife and kids are away so it is possible that, apart from a few words at shop tills, I might speak to nobody for the next 3 days.

They're gone 3 weeks now. Another 3 to go.

The first 3 or 4 days were great. I could eat/drink/do/watch what I liked. I could sit with a book at a cafe and relax, so I did. I could get up late, so I did. I could listen to the music I liked in the car, so I did. I could watch all the sports on tv, so I did.

Turns out all the stuff I wanted to do but never had time/freedom/peace to do, could easily be done in about 3 days. Then it got boring. So very boring.

I'm sure that just a few days after they get back, I'll have a hankering for all that freedom and peace again though.
