Lack of nicotine does that to me.

I just had to take on the dual armies of Azhag The Slaughterer and Grimgor Ironhide - not easy. Most of my units took a severe beating and they may not recover in time for the next round.

    Time to summon The Angry.

Speak his name and he shall appear! :D

All set for Mayhem tomorrow Angron?

Indeed, gonna get a train up at some stage tomorrow, and probably gonna go around the city doing a bit of Pokemon Go stuff for a few hours before the show. Pokemon Go in a city spoils you compared to the countryside :pac:

It's a very full city for such things, are you coming into Connolly or Heuston?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Music Moderators, Regional Midlands Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 24,164 Mod ✭✭✭✭Angron

Connolly, I'm along the Sligo-Dublin route. I'm really excited to see Mayhem, they're one of those "always wanted to see" bands. After them the main ones I'd like to see I'd probably have to go overseas for. Deicide I remember H said he wouldn't work with them again, and then bands like Ahab, F*ck the Facts, and Beneath the Massacre are unlikely to do a show here I'd reckon.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

I've seen Ahab at Roadburn they're really good. Deicide were ok, not mind blowing, but a solid Death Metal gig. Beneath The Massacre are savage, I don't know Fup the Facts.

I can recommend a stroll from Connolly along the Luas Lines to O'Connell St to Catch 'Em All.

Yeah, F*ck the Facts are a grindcore band, which is a genre I wish I knew more people were in to. I ordered a t-shirt and two CDs from their site last year, and one of the members does all the shipping and he e-mailed me to check was the address right. He thought I'd left a couple of lines out because it's shorter than what they have over there apparently :pac:

Ha! Not the first time I've heard that happening, it's funnier when you don't include a postcode cause that seems to make people think you're faking it.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Music Moderators, Regional Midlands Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 24,164 Mod ✭✭✭✭Angron

Yeah, I think that was part of what confused him because I didn't use the eircode thing. I considered telling him about how that exists but nobody really uses it anyway, then figured he probably wouldn't care so I just said that address is fine, and it'll get to me eventually. And it did!

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

    That's all that matters :)

I think, after what's been a very hard fought series of battles, I've got these damned orks on the back foot.

I wonder do the Orks in fantasy re-populate differently to 40k... To be honest, my knowledge of Fantasy isn't that extensive, I know a bit about the changes that Age of Sigmar brought, but it's not a patch on what I know from 40k.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

I don't know anything about Age of Sigmar (which, based on a quick look at gw.com doesn't appear to have Orks at all). Pretty sure the species is the same though - fungal and warlike and with genetic memory.

They do, just under a different name. Bunch of the armies got name changes for (I assume) ease of copyrighting. Now the Orks are "Orruks", and are part of the Destruction alliance, along with the Grots (goblins), Gutbusters (Ogres), and Troggoth (Trolls). Elves also got renamed to "Aelfs".

I'm assuming this is the same reason the Imperial Guard are now called the Astra Militarum.

Most fantasy orcs reproduce the old fashioned way. Thus the popularity for half-orc characters in some D&D games. You can guess which parent is the father in that mix.

Well here I mean the Warhammer Fantasy world specifically.

That's all "we need to lock down our copyright stuff" nonsense since they attempted their lawsuit over Space Marine.

Knowing GW, they'll always insist on having their own lore so they can claim ownership Wolfie, there'll be no infringing on the ideas of Tolkien or the likes.

Yeah, that attempted copyright of Space Marine sure was a bizarre one. Though I was watching a Jim Sterling Jimpression video where the game had an enemy called the Necron something or other. I'm pretty sure GW could get very annoyed with that one, and not look ridiculous :P

Thus the reason a halfling and a hobbit are the same damn thing. Only difference is one will get you sued by the Tolkien estate, and the other won't.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

    Exactly :)

I've made progress, the Dwali of Karak Azul have joined my mighty empire and Thorgrim Grudgebearer, King of Karaz a Karak has joined the battle. Of course, the Morglum Backstabba of the Crooked Moon is not too happy about this and looks likely to start a war or join the Greenskins himself.

Which army are you playing as?

(the ones afraid to wear kilts... ;) ...jest sayin... carry on)

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

hehehe, yea, I'm playing as Dwarves.

I like Dwarves. Their ability to hold a grudge to a ridiculous degree is very relatable :pac:

Oh this is alllllll about the Grudges :D
