Annoyingly High Resting Heart rate, any help?

Hi guys, was torn between posting this here or in the medical threads.

    I'm 18 years old, weighing 56kg.
My RHR is usually around 90-95 bpm which is really annoying me.
I'm a very active person, usually running at least 8km daily as well as the odd trip to the gym.
When I'm sprinting full pace for five or so minutes my pulse maxes out around 187.

I never experience any chest pain / shortness of breath or discomfort when running.

I've asked my GP about it and she sent me for an ECG, which showed that my heart is totally structurally sound. Interestingly enough, my blood tests showed that I had a seriously high amount of red blood cells (To the point that the lab actually asked me if I was taking EPO )

Anyway, the cause of my alarmingly high RHR remains a mystery...

I'm looking to change up my routine to see if i can lower it in any way. If anyone could give me any tips or exercises that I could do that might help me lower it over time that'd be great :)

How are you measuring your RHR?

Edit: because there's a significant difference in my HR at random times during the day and what my HRM/Fitbit reports as my RHR when it's worn for a while.
But it still sounds high regardless.
