    Did anyone else get a call from virgin offering 5 off your bill for 6 months + a new VM modem lately if agreeing to a new 12 month contract.

    Seems were how they would seek me out for it..but how could I say no to a new modem especially as I have no plans of leaving VM

    Anyone else get this call? Could I have gotten a better deal if I complained about the service?

    I had the EPC3925 theb upgraded speeds and got horizon, that was pathetic so asked them for a modem which is some unknown brand. It's signal is **** out my back garden whereas my old router was fine, wifi is crap on other devices when my laptop is downloading large files. So I'm delighted for this new router...he did say it blew all their other routers ot of the water during testing but of course they will say that anyways lol

    Tenner says your area is on an FTTH list and they wanted to lock you down.

    Could this be an attempt to get the last users off the Scientific Atlanta DOCSIS 2.0 modems? The 2203 and 2425?

    It came today and it is white and stands up straight. Looks very fancy.

    It's called CBN CH7465CE and it says DOCSIS 3.0

    not sure what DOCSIS is. I think it's time to get some cat6e cables

    It's this thing? -> https://www.virginmedia.ie/content/dam/www-virginmedia-ie/img/faqs/virgin_media_hub_modem.png

    They call that the Virgin Media Hub. They usually only hand that out with the 360mb package. So either you upgraded to 360 or I guess they changed their minds for some reason.

    That's the one. No I didn't upgrade. Only time he mentioned speeds was when he was reading out what package I'm on which is 240mb.

    So have I gotten a good modem? Haven't checked the range out my back garden as of yet.

    It's probably their best modem to date, but that's not saying much...

    I have no idea about the wifi range I'm afraid. I bridged mine straight out of the box.

    I heard these are some useful tutorials though if you're interested -> https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-Al6rzTlW-i7i-EaYgjpYOYbdzxJAOqZ
