There is a video which shows how bus blinds are still being made in London which I found very informative because I'm studying Graphic design at the moment.

What are your thoughts on Bus blinds used here in Ireland over the years or otherwise used elsewhere?

Do you think they still serve a purpose to passengers in the modern world?

My nearest Dublin Bus garage is Donnybrook. I thought their purpose overall were used very well with some minor discrepancies when roller blinds were used until a few years ago on some routes like the 75 & 114. Other routes did work them in very well with clear and concise destinations on them.

What is your nearest garage & what did you think of their use of them?

Anyone know of the typefaces used on Dublin Bus & Bus Eireann roller blind from years ago even after CIE had split up?

    Thanks.

Honestly don't understand why london still uses them when pretty much every city in the first world uses LED screens now although maybe they are more reliable than LED when I was in Rome for example quite a lot of the buses were using those makeshift hand written scrolls as the LED screens were broken but yet I haven't seen a Dublin Bus or a Bus Eireann bus using them in years.

I much prefer blinds than the current craze for LED, but they are limited to a garage from an operational point of view (all garages recently helped out on the 16, but garages with no blinds for the 16 would've just been blank) and to turn them over could take strength of a thousand men amongst older buses. So if they got stuck, there'd be all sorts of confusion.

I probably prefer Dublin Bus using DMDs overall..
