    Hi I'm wondering if there is any current up to date information on the Resource Person role. I have applied for this role with a local ETB with teaching in mind but seeing now that is not the case at all. Could anyone advise on the current state of affairs please?

    Youthreach is a bit of a fiasco at the moment. Stupid staff contracts and Solas's recent decision to pay all students full pay even if they're absent, have made the whole thing a joke.

    Note that teaching in Youthreach does not count as actual teaching and isn't recognised at all for increment purposes if you go back to an actual school.

    This changed very recently. Youthreach workers can now claim full increments if they return to post-primary teaching. Look up Circular 0023/2023- the new Scheme for the Award of Incremental Credit to Post Primary Teachers who have prior service as a Youthreach Resource Person
