Extra sensitive around period - is it just me?

I'm not just talking about areas that you'd normally expect to get sensitive, but for the last couple of months from the day before the bit of my nose my glasses sit on start to itch, labels in my clothes start to irritate me, even my earrings start to feel like they did when they were freshly pierced.

Is this just me or does it happen often? and is it something I'm likely to grow out of?

Nope, I get skin sensitivity at times too. They say its the worst time for waxing because of it. I find even showering can be a bit sore. Normally I love to hop in the shower but I have to talk my self up to it when I'm on because I know I'll feel great afterwards but dread it beforehand.

I'm the same OP. I even keep a particularly soft brushed cotton duvet cover in reserve for that time. My skin is so sensitive that combing or brushing my hair hurts my scalp, and I can't use my loofah in the shower or even rub myself dry - I try air dry myself. I have certain outfits I wear with no tight waist bands or restrictive arm holes etc., and I wear seamless underwear because the seams suddenly feel tortuously irritating. As soon as I get in from work I change into a fleecy cotton sweatshirt and pj pants with inside-out cotton socks, to minimise the discomfort. It's worst from the day before to the end of the second day.

    You're not alone. :)

It differs for me. Some months I am so sensitive, my clothes annoy me, boobs sore when I run, the thought of somebody touching me makes me coil up in horror because I feel like delicate tissue paper, its weird.
On the other hand, I got my nipple pierced while on my period and it wasnt so bad! I still dont know what I was thinking at the time but hey its done now!

I am the same. I find even tapping my leg of the side of the bed s agony at times.

Differs for me too. No two months are ever the same. I thought things had settled and I was in a nice routine but then BAM. Sometimes I'm okay with random touching, however sometimes any sort of contact initiates the feeling of nails down a chalkboard.

I've never noticed that kind of sensitivity myself, but what does happen me, and it's really really getting on my nerves is around the time of ovulation... I sweat.. and it ain't pretty. I've had to throw away quite a few tops I have as they just smell or hold the pits smell. I know it's gross but I'd hope that I'm not the only one... also, any tips for cleaning pits of clothes to freshen them up? Pennys and H&M are the biggest offenders when it comes to pits that hold smells in their clothes imo.

Maybe try a hotter wash if it's just basic tops that can take it. I find I need a hotter wash for my gym clothes or they smell 'stale sweaty :( '

I have endometriosis so my period pain is unbelievable at times. Even the weight of a duvet hurts and a hot water bottles weight hurts but I need the heat so I sort of lie on my side with it between me and a pillow the other side of it to get away from the weight issue.

But yeah, there's a ban on tights, jeans and anything that's restricting. It's awful but I can't take the pain of adding more pain than is already there by choosing tight clothes. I find the M&S pull on jeggings in a bigger size to be an absolute god send. They're thick enough material. Luckily I can get away with those for work with a fancier top and I just wear them in a dark colour. I have more comfortable bras as well for the worst days.

I wear nighties inside out to put the seams on the other side.

My skin also takes off in terms of breakouts so I'm just really gentle on it.

Wet the garment then soak the pits in neat white vinegar for a few hours or overnight then wash them out in the hottest wash they can take. If you have a bucket you can leave outdoors, use that because the smell of the vinegar indoors is overpowering. Otherwise if you have something with a lid you could use that. It gets rid of most the pit smells first time, but it might take a couple of goes if its really bad.

Synthetics are the worst for holding onto odors.

    Thanks Candie,

It's so annoying to put on a clean fresh top but to then smell (even if it's just me being able to smell myself) a pit smell after a few minutes. Will definitly try the white vinegar trick.

Just one more question, it won't stain a top like bleach? (I'm presuming it wouldn't)

It didn't discolour anything I've ever used it on Tunage, but don't kill me if if something happens!

I know what you mean about the whiff. I always find my own body odour more noticeable after exercise at TTOTM.
