Atm on university campuses would be your best bet. I know atm in DCU at least gave out €10's when I was studying there.

As far as I'm aware most Ulster Bank ATM's give out €10 notes. The lad who worked in my local branch told me that that one definitely did and I'm pretty sure he said most others do too.

Edit: I'm absolutely smashed myself but I think I have €50 there you can have if you PM me.

There's one on Winthrop St. in Cork that does it sometimes the Ulster Bank one, for any of our Corkonian readers.

In my experience from being with Permanent TSB, it was only said Permanent TSB atm machines that I could ever draw out 10 euro. Very rarely any other banks atm.

But mate, you are better off just thinking of the atms in your local area and just going by them one by one if you absolutely need it. For what its worth, try permanent tsb one first.

There's a tsb in phibsboro too so I'll check that out as well, cheers for that!

Not in town? There's an Ulster one in Malahide and Swords that do tenners.

You could buy something small from a shop and get cash back?

On the subject of tenners, I never understood why they aren't given out as easily, it's handy as hell when you've got like 17e on a Saturday

If you know someone else registered with Perm TSB, they could text you a few quid via sms message

    https://www.permanenttsb.ie/waystobank/mobile-banking/mobilemoney/

If you were with BOI, I could have subbed you a couple of quid via sms. I remember what its like being stuck like that and its hateful.

You have excellent punctuation for someone who's absolutely smashed.

    Has smashed changed meaning?

The one in UCD never had anything less than 20s when I was there and that was before the Euro changeover. Always seemed to have a balance of £19.97 when I visited

If it would mean you being able to withdraw €20, I wouldn't miss the price of 2 pints.

I recall on occasion there being no €20 either, and having a balance of £49.98 old money. Now overdraft saves the day occasionally.

    Tenners? Out of an ATM?

Its the second coming of the Celtic Tiger don't cha know, €50's for all.

The new ATM in the Spar only gives you the options to take out 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 or other amount... other amount? Too much hassel *presses 400*

Took 120 euro put of an ATM in Lisbon.

    Got 24 five euro notes.
    Fat stacks.

Back in the good old days the ATM in the garage on the Howth Road (close to Killester) was known to give out €5's

It was always last chance saloon but if it worked, you felt like Denis O'Brien.

Ulster bank as said do them but the vast majority of the time they will have a little 'No €10 notes left' or something close to it. TSB ATMs is a better option but at the weekends they tend to run out faster than during the week. Not sure if that's because a lot of people take them out or just that they don't make many of them available to begin with.

Piggy backing on this thread. Any one know of ATMs in Douglas, Cork that dispense 10 euro. Is it my immagination or are ten euros getting scare. Even shops are reluctant to give 2 tens for a twenty.

I've noticed that most machines I've been to lately - full bank managed machines rather than those little kiosk ones in garages etc - all have tenners in them. I got a big lump of cash out yesterday and instead of just giving it to me in fifties, it gave me twenties and tens as well in the mix.

I'm not in cork, but I'd say if you try proper banlk ATMs it'll be the same as Dublin and they'll all have them.

Got money out of Ulster Bank ATM on Camden Street before and there was a tenner included. Remember it because I didn't think they dispensed them anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,166 ✭✭✭Are Am Eye

The atms do lodgements now as well.
If you take out €500. Then lodge €490. You have your tenner.
    Your welcome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 Cropper1010

Thats funny, if only I had 500
    I barely have a tenner.

Ya get fivers in the ones in Germany. They'll also tell you in advance which denominations are available. If you request a large amount, you can specify high, low or mixed denominations.

Not like the moronic ones in Dublin.

    Would you like a fifty?

    Yes.

Sorry, no fifties. Here's your stinking card back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 Cropper1010

does any atm in Ireland give out fivers?

I never understood this desire for tenners in ATMs. Is taking out a twenty really breaking the bank?
