Recovering Files from bricked phone

Anyone out there ever recovered files from a bricked phone. Phone is one plus one. completely ****ed never going to work again. Just wondering is there a way to take out the flash storage and recover the data from it. Or would it be soldered to the main board or impossible to remove.

If you can get fastboot then I think you should be able to pull files. And if you cant fastboot then you've probably hit it with a hammer or similar...
