No talking about the last thread.

    The usual rules apply.

    Oh, a new thread.
Sometimes, there are benefits to being up all night wrestling with ebay.

People complaining about the ferry to France.
    Waste charges.
    Something else.

He gave out a new "YEW KAY" number today. I wonder will he go down the Brexit route. I don't think he's touched yet.

He better not go waffling about Irish Ferries being some sort of national carrier when they don't actually have 1 single boat registered in this country, the Cypriot embassy is where any complaints should be sent regarding Cypriot vessels.

Ah now, AD. Don't be going muddying the waters with facts

Well I spose that is the irony of all the "worker's rights" in Ireland. They only seem to apply to the unionised workers, who abuse them by holding the nation to ransom.

    Per drop or per mile.
Generally speaking, yes. A retained courier is an expensive guy to keep hanging around, and I only ever knew of them in the BBC, etc.

Deliveroo's biggest mistake: taking on an articulate guy who can analyse a contract.
Anyway, back to Liveline. Another glimpse into the brave new world of the precariat.

Next caller with an actual problem please...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deliveroo
Deliveroo is a British online food delivery company that has operations in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Dubai, Australia, Singapore & Hong Kong.

Orders are placed through the Deliveroo website and then self-employed bicycle or motorcycle couriers transport orders from restaurants to customers.

citing 1913, and no doubt James Connolly to follow... And Duffy himself paid multiples of the average industrial wage, by the poorest of Irish society.

I'd love if one of these small companies set up Duffy. Create the scenario where you have an "ex employee" who rings liveline to complain about a particular company. Duffy will loves "holding people to account" as long as it's not himself, so he'll bring on the company owner. Then when they bring you on, go straight for Duffy, his hypocrisy, his wages, his double jobbing, everything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,492 ✭✭✭stoplooklisten

next caller...i have a job for that lad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,748 ✭✭✭✭Ally Dick
