3 things you would remove from the world

Which 3 things would you remove from the world and why?
For me it would be; alcohol, television, religion.
Reason being, I think the world would be a better place to live in without them.
I stop believing in God and religion when I was 16, despite the best efforts to indoctrinate me by my school, parents, mass. 23 years later I have no regrets living a life with no religion.
I gave up watching TV in 2000, and get my films from Putlocker.is. The internet is all I need, I don't miss being dumbed down by the states propaganda channel that is RTE.
Alcohol is one I just can't give up totally, although I would prefer to. I went on a heavy session on my birthday last year then had a year off it until my birthday this year. But as culturally most social events in Ireland involve drink; its hard to avoid. I found drinking lemonade until 2.00am on night out boring to be honest. I still would like to live in a world without it though.

Because it is and it's funded by the state/Government.

Not all propaganda is done North Korea style. Sometimes it can be very subtle.

    Cigarettes.

    Good choice.
Another 3 of mine would be: tobacco, cancer, heroin.
Without question the world would be a better place without them.

    Because it is
    But how?
and it's funded by the state/Government.
... or the public, like the BBC - is that a propaganda channel? A huge amount of RTE's funding is commercial actually.

Those three goals the Belgians scored

I bet 100 on Belgium to win at odds of 1.85 pre-match. A nice clean 85 Euro net profit. That's my free night out sorted.
Every cloud has a silver lining.

The BBC is the British government's propaganda channel. Its used to manipulate the electorate into believing what the government wants them to think.
RTE is the Irish government's. This is nothing new, its the same the world over, governments use TV to brainwash the people.
RTE, Haughey, Gay Byrne, Fianna Fail, Catholic Church, etc. You get the idea.

I always find there is never actually a concrete answer given to the question asked "How is RTE a propaganda channel".

Whereas I see a station that brings people of all views onto the panel for current affairs shows, and its news programmes just report the news.

Fianna Fail and RTE, 2 cheeks of the same arse. Ryan Tubridy for example, his family are Fianna Fail. Nicky Byrne on 2FM, his wife is Bertie's daughter. Miriam O'Callaghan's brother Jim is Fianna Fail.
Are you getting the connection yet?
Fianna Fail have RTE in their pockets, when it comes to political propaganda; they are very pro Fianna Fail. Jobs for the boys if you sing from the same hymn sheet; the Fianna Fail one.
    Haughey/Gay Byrne/Catholic Church/RTE, one family.

Yes! Skinny jeans are a good one.
    I would have these 3:
    Hipsters
    Beards
    Skinny jeans
Offenders with all 3 should be deported or sterilised so they cannot breed more of their kind.

Others call it "Pravda" - implying it sympathises with socialists, I've also seen it referred to as pushing a liberal agenda. It's all influenced by a person's views and levels of paranoia. If a person is a moderate in the centre they'll just see a broadcaster.

I'm not getting any connection because Nicky Byrne is a well known personality in his own right having been a member of a massively successful boyband, Miriam O'Callaghan is a trained journalist who worked for the BBC before RTE. I will concede on Tubridy's FF shilling but does this mean RTE overall is pro FF? He's just one person. And what do RTE broadcast that is pro FF? I've seen them present news stories where Enda is shown in a good light and FF in a negative light. They're a bunch of individual journalists.

Are you a Kerryman by any chance?
I have heard one has to explain things more slowly to them.
Maybe I should get my 6 year old nephew to post as he seems to get the RTE/Catholic Church/Fianna Fail connection OK?

Your six year old nephew may have a better grasp of reality.
Realistically Ryan Turbidy has the most clearest Fianna Fail pedigree , Nicky Byrne could hardly be called influential at all.

You are ignoring my points that refute RTE being a mouthpiece for FF, whereas all you are offering to counter this is "It's a propaganda station because it is."
How would it have been a propaganda station when FF was not in power?

Maybe it was more inclined to toe the party line more in the past - more in relation to the catholic church than FF in my opinion, but not today. There are no actual examples being given of how it broadcasts propaganda content. Even if it does so subtly, tangible examples could still be given.

People that derail a thread with another topic.
They go on and on like someone with asperger syndrome talking about their favourite topic on a loop. They just can't get off it.

I take it you're not a fan of the Catholic Church?

I am London-Irish, and suffice it to say we got it hammered into us; parents, teachers, mass. Full on indoctrination. My father was educated by Christian Brothers, my mother by Nuns. Enough said. Rosary beads, pictures of the Sacred Heart, Child of Prague ornaments, palms, holy water fonts, you name it.
Our home was like a Knock or Lourdes shrine.
Honestly, I think as bad as ISIS are; the Catholic Church are worse when it comes to child abuse. I abhor religion, but the Catholic Church is at the top of my list. It sickens me to see the mini-brides done up for their conformations even now. The indoctrination and forced baptisms to get into state schools still going on. Such is the desperation of the Catholic Church to secure the revenue stream of the next generation.
I say this to those who believe in God.
That MP Jo was a good woman, so if there was a God then why would he allow someone so decent to be murdered and leave 2 children motherless?
You see this is why I don't believe in God. The good die, and the evil live on.
