Advice re: Core workout at home using dumbbells

Looking for some advice on increasing my core strength & general toning up using dumbbells at home.

Had slowly but surely put on 3 stone since stopping any kind of training about 2 years ago, decided enough was enough & have managed through cardio exercise & a controlled diet to lose 2 and a half of the three and am working to get that last half a stone off too.

Thing is, i'm happy enough with my general level of fitness but would like to increase my core strength & generally tone up. I have no interest in joining a gym or getting expensive equipment but do have a set of dumbells at home and rather than go about it poorly would prefer a basic routine using these dumbbells, anyone any advice for someone who has never really done home training before (up until the 2 years ago I did all my training on the machines in the gym)

Any help or guidance greatly appreciated.

Some of the best core exercises don't even require Dumbells. Exercises like planks and push-ups will engage your core and help build a lot of strength. Add pull ups if you can (get a door frame chinning bar, 30-50 euro) and the usual Dumbell exercises and you should be sorted.

Don't forget about your legs, do some body weight or Dumbell squats, stiff leg deadlift, glute bridges etc. YouTube is great if you don't know what some of those are.
