Jellyfish

I've been on the water for many years but have not seen the shear amount of jellys in the water as last weekend.
Anyone else noticed it?
At one point crossing the Bennet bank, there was more jelly than water and was worried about the engine cooling intake!
Also spotted a lot of pilot whales, not sure if it's related..

Experts have quashed the urban myth that urine is a miracle cure for stings, with salt-water advised to clear the sting.

Never heard of that.. Acetic acid (vinegar) is supposed to be the best thing.

I remember hauling lobster pots and getting a face full of jellyfish, urine did not come to mind

Stung on face when out swimming deep. Hurt like f#$u. Swam for another 15 mins and was grand after it.face was just a little tingly.
