I'm looking for opinions on my diet. In the last 18 months I have lost 4 stone and now I'm want to tone up. What changes should I make to help with toning up ? I'm a Vegetarian by the way

    Breakfest

30G Bran flakes with a some combination of Apple, banana, pear, and mixed berries.

    Or

2 slices whole meal toast with scrambled or fryed egg and a side of fried mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans.

    Lunch

    Pasta with loads of salad.
    Some fruit

    Dinner
    Pasta with salad.
    Small potatoes and salad.
    Bollognese made with Quorn mince,
Sweet and sour noodles with peppers, onions, mushrooms.
    Risotto and Salad

    Chipper on Friday.
    Snacks
    Fruit
    Around 2L water a day.
5 cups of tea, no sugar, drop of milk.

If you want to gain muscle you'll want to make sure you've a good source of protein in each meal. Your breakfasts are mostly fine, I'd throw in a handful of walnuts maybe. Lunch and dinner, not so great.

Pasta being the bulk of a meal is a no no. Pasta and other carbs are fine but they should be a relatively small section of the plate - you need something more proteiny. Cashew nuts go great in a stirfry. Tofu can be done a million ways. Cheese fits into a salad really well. There are more quorn or Linda McCartney meat-replacement options than you can shake a stick at.

I presume you are lifting weights?

Thanks for the advice. I am lifting kettlebells, but I have only started.
