    I bought one of these on e-bay back in 2011;

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/370338816457?

Great job, cheap and cheerful. I mounted mine on a home made weed-licker and use it for spot-spraying also.

I got a sprayer a few years back from O'Donovan's down in Cork. It is around 100 to 115 lts. I made up a frame for the 3 point linkage and made up a 3 meter boom. handy for small paddocks. Also great for spot spraying with the lance. Can also be used on the back of the quad. Have got great advise from O'Donovan's anytime that I rang them up.

Bought my sprayer with all the gear with it off this crowd up the North years ago:

Can't fault it really, any issues I've had were as a result of my own wrong doings.

Go for one with a small tidy tank if you are mounting it on the quad. Remember a 100l tank will weigh over 100kg....that's a pretty heavy adult sitting on the back of the bike.

And if you are working with a hand Lance, you'll have a good pain in the hand by the time it's empty...

Anyone know why Quad X don't have prices on their website.
Very off putting. I'm on the market for a pull behind mower and a salt spreader but no prices on their web pages.

That's because they are all free!

On the subject of 'quad' sprayers, I bought a 37l draper one for €129 all in del straight to the door. It's 2.5-3 knapsacks. More than enough for the spot spraying I'd be doing without the weight on my poor back and no pumping.

    Still haven't used it yet!

Have a similar size myself, no quad so stick it in the back of the jeep. Put 20m garden hose to extend the lance, hell of a lot easier than the knap sack!

As a matter of interest what would you spray under fences?

Could you attach one of those to a ride on mower?

    Where did you buy that?

Yes it just needs a 12v battery to work the little pump.

Do you want to kill everything? Then a non selective herbicide like gallup or hurler will do the trick. If you just want to kill weeds and briars only, then grazon pro is your man.

Can attach it to anything with a 12v battery.

My ride on would have the two bars to hold the grass catcher, for the sprayer it looks like there is only two straps. Wondering how secure it would be

I was hoping to just create a line about 10 inches wide under the fence killing everything (i.e. Not pushing into farm field and lawn). The fence sepeartes farm field and lawn

A neighbour puts it on his childrens go kart trailer and tows it with the ride on.... simple but effective

Any sprayer brands to stay away from ? If you just got one with a hand lance , can you add a boom at a later stage ?

Make sure that the pump has the capacity to do six nozzles on the boom

Have a 98l draper here with 2.7 metre booms... booms are made outta like a hard bendable plastic so don't rust and aren't heavy... it has a hand lance attached till sprayer tank aswell as another pipe that just sprays the width off the quad... have it a few years now very handy and no bother.... the only problem I had was getting my tow hitch loosened on quad as thus is where u mount the booms was grand after first time... sprayer £185 booms £145.

Does anyone know if them sprayers are worth the money? Seem very cheap for a sprayer with booms, usual price is well over 300euro or at least thats what other adds state.

Booms look very light have a 98l draper with Booms here and had till make a new implement till cable tie the Booms on till as the original is very light aswell.... would catch on a rush pull back then shoot forward missing most off the rush.

Sprayers are basic equipment, look at the pump brand and google it to see what you can find out about the brand. There is not a lot that can go wrong with them . QuadX is like Hardi way over priced.

Anyone ever think of making one?
Was thinking of putting a hose/lance from 20 litre (or bigger) drum and hook a 12 v air pump onto it. Stick it in the jeep.
Currently use the small 5L air ones and a few strokes of the handle does a lot of spraying

Why would you bother when you can buy them for the prices shown. By the time you would have all the parts bought the savings would be minimal

We had a home made one for years and it worked fine.

It died in the spring and we bought a 100l sprayer with folding booms from the Quad crowd in Wales.

Nice piece of kit, booms are strong, fold up and are spring loaded so if you catch them in anfemce post they spring back into place.

    They're on EBay.

    Quadbikewales ?
They have their own website too . I have bought a couple of sprayers off them ,.And sent a few people their direction .
The ones i bought have a shurflo pump which is meant to be a very good pump. in or around 100 euro on its own i think.
The cheaper ones like the draper ones have cheaper pumps which are known not to last as long .
My sprayer on the quad also has a boom with 2 nozzles about 4 feet apart .
They cover 10/12 feet . They arent a standard nozzle which create a mist but sprays parallel to the ground like fingers on a hand .
I find them very good .
