Mac not booting

I'm having trouble booting up my mac book. I turn it on and I get the white screen with the logo and it begins to load but turns off at about 2/3s of the way finished. I've tried a few of the solutions online like starting up with command+R and repairing the utility drive but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone here know how I can go about fixing it? I'm using OSX El captain.
