What's the difference between Bono and God?

    God doesn't think he's Bono.

She, like all of us, was, simply by living her day-to-day life, contributing indirectly to the inequality of global capitalism, and thus to starvation and war in some of the poorest areas of the world, so he had a point to be fair.

"Napoleon complex" is a term describing a theoretical condition occurring in people of short stature. It is characterized by overly-aggressive or domineering social behavior, and carries the implication that such behaviour is compensatory for the subject's stature. The term is also used more generally to describe people who are driven by a perceived handicap to overcompensate in other aspects of their lives

The story does not add up. She claims that she was moved by Bono's security 15 minutes after His Bononess arrived. I have seen Bono out and about a good few times and he does not have his own security. Was it the stadium security perhaps?
And then says that after the gig a member of Springsteen's road crew told her that it was Bono that had her moved. How would he know. 2nd/3rd hand information?
    Indo muck story.

I doubt Bono had any part in it tbh. Someone in his security team went in and made the call and Bono would have arrived in afterwards unaware of what had happened.

Tbh, everyone should be encouraged to question "security" like this more. The fact that she moved says volumes, since if she had just said "no", there's fnck all they could have done about it. But she assumed they were something official, so she moved.

Never underestimate the power of a person who pretends to have power.

could "security risk" mean wildly drunk?

I'd have politely told them where to go if I were asked, oh, and I'd have asked for a refund for having to listen to him crowing on stage with the boss on Sunday night. Can't stand Bono.

Does it matter? They had VIP tickets. I'd be surprised if Bono even had a ticket himself.

I never get the hate in Ireland for Bono.

He doesn’t have extreme political views, promotes peace and does a lot of charity work.

Arguably Ireland’s most famous living person who is well received abroad and despite what U2 as a company do, he personally pays taxes in Ireland.

The article is awful, just lifting one sided tweets.

Bono regularly wanders around Kiliiney, Dalkey, Dun Laoghaire on his own without ever having security. I know of several people who have seen and met him out and about so why would he have security in Croke Park?

I have no feeling toward bono. I'm completely indifferent to him. Independent newspapers and their ilk however, are pond scum.

Most usual way to get kicked out of a VIP area is by not acting like a VIP.
Asking people for autographs, trying to take photos, standing up in front of those seated behind you, disturbing the other VIPs....

We are not getting the full story here.

Absolutely agree with you. But you're forgetting that because he is a successful, famous Irish person, there are plenty of unsuccessful (in comparison) Irish people who begrudge him that success.

As for this incident, I reckon she was at fault here. You only get chucked out of a VIP area for acting the idiot.

Must be great to be Bono...has his view of the stage obstructed and says fcuk craning his neck..I'll just go up there altogether and sing a song with him.

I heard they made it up to her by Bono posing with her for a photo taken by Springsteen, then they paid for a meal in a nearby restaurant for her.

Only for Bill Murray to eat some chips off her plate and tell her that nobody will believe her.

I am no fan of Pond Scum, certainly wouldn't be hanging out with them; but come on - comparing them to the Independent, a bit harsh on Pond Scum is it not.

He's rich and successful. But let's not also forget that he went to a Proddie school and talks with a posh affectation.
    And he's outspoken too.

Basically he fits a whole pile of stereotypes that 1980s Ireland hated - successful, posh, protestant, not humble.

Yep, you'd see him having the odd pint in Dalkey. And often no one is with him (not security anyway), nor is anyone bothering him.

He'll donate €500 to Africa in her name. Then invoice her for the ink.

Performer trumps vip. Dont know why people are upset someone who probably got a free corporate ticket was asked to move for someone who was taking part in the gig

And why would Bono have a ticket? Be a bit much to ask someone to do a free cameo at your show and then expect him to pay in.

Apparently Bono's 'security' got this person & her friends to change her seat in the VIP area at Sunday nights Springsteen concert because she posed a 'security risk'. Was his ego being denied a view of the stage I wonder?

    Hey I'm a performer!!!

Fcuk of Bono, there's not one person here who bought a ticket to see you!

Maybe not, but, judging by the crowd reaction, most were very pleased to see him on stage. At least he doesn't go around advertising a UK clothing chain.

I get a "who will rid me of this troublesome priest" feeling from this. Maybe he made some comment on the view, them someone else took it on themselves to move the people. Doesn't mean he ordered it. When people take you too seriously, sometimes a wish can be interepreted as a request.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

You used the word 'apparently' which indicates you don't know the story and none of use do so no one here is qualified to comment.

There is always two sides to the story.
