Personally I think French women speaking English is Hot, but there's nothing like a Cork women's accent to make Michael stand up, what about yourselves

Irish regional accents are the best. The city centre plain clothes Sargent who was the star of the recent RTE docu The Gaurds has the sexiest accent! Where is he from?

When I was 14 I had an enormous crush on my mother's French friend. She was about 40.
Every time she spoke to me I would melt.
It was quite obvious I was mad about her. Then For my 15th birthday she was visiting our house. When she found out out was my birthday she decided to sing happy birthday in French to me....
Now excuse me please I need some alone time to reminisce...... Kleenex please!

Yea the Welsh accent has a beautiful tone to it all right. I was watching an art show last night on BBC and Charlotte Church was presenting it and I could have listened to her all night. Of course she's beautiful too.

The Cork accent is about as sexy as a swift kick in the goolies. Its too sharp and singy.

    Colombian accent sexy as hell.

    Accents are just generally sexy.

What you've essentially said just there is that voices are just generally sexy.

I think I'm one of the few who doesn't like French accents. Sounds too contrived.
And Scottish one's sound daft. Well, Glaswegian. Good for comedy and that's it.

I remember ringing Sky on the UK number (no it wasn't Babestation) years ago and the Scottish one I was talking to had a very sexy accent.

Maybe a mild accent, but Glasgow ones sound like a bag of knives being thrown at a chainsaw and I'm waiting for the punchline at the end of each sentence.

Love a scouser accent on a girl. Geordie also. Edinburgh accent nice as well.

Closer to home, Donegal and posh D4 accent get me weak at the knees haha

During my last years at school we had a new french teacher. She was just complete loveliness. Her loveliness was heightened by it being an all-male school.

Sadly I'd given up French some years before, me being a linguistic dunderhead.

She had a double barrelled name, unusual at the time, and when she spoke. Ahhh

Anyway she thought it a good idea to take me and 7 mates (all sixth-formers) to France for the day, with the idea that we could look after the younger kids. We were pretty useless and she must have realised afterwards why no one had ever made us prefects. Potential romance ruined.:(

I don't like it either. French, Spanish, Italian accents do nothing for me. I love a slightly posh British accent or norn iron.

    I can certainly believe it!
A high pitched slur of abbreviations always formed to sound like a question.

The Australian accent is near enough at the bottom of my list for favourite accents.

Australian accents are generally desperate. Especially the common ones. Common like low class, not ubiquitous. Would grate cheese for you. And even more unappealing on a woman for some reason.

I like a man with a nice Donegal accent. And some of the Scottish ones. Phwoar.

I don't think of any one accent as sexy. It does depend on the person's voice. An annoying voice is a real turnoff though. My oh's accent is a bit of a mixed bag because he has lived away from home since he was 17/18 and now early 30s so his accent is quite funny sometimes and unique.

I worked with a girl before from Dublin who wasn't bad looking or anything but wasn't a stunner like she was nice but she had the most amazing husky voice. She had to deal with customers on the phone. Not in a seedy way or anything but when they would come into the shop they would ask for the girl with the voice :)

I was trying to place his accent, I think it sounds like a Galway accent.

Most strong accents outside Ireland can be sexy. Exception is Liverpool. A strong scouse accent just sounds horrible no matter how good looking the person.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,237 ✭✭✭pew

Live the Cork and Donegal accents on a guy.

    I like:

    From nowhere neutral Irish accent
    Light Dublin accent
    Galway accent
    Spanish accent
    Light Ozzie accent

    I hate:

    Northern Irish accent
    Strong country Irish accent
    Strong Limerick or cork accent
    Eastern European and Russian accents
American accent (only he distinct area accents, I don't really mind that more neutral one)

    Edinburgh.
It's just generally a soft Scottish accent but it's magic.

    Unreal at hurting your ears

Posh English is my favourite female accent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,629 ✭✭✭Hunchback

I worked with a Slovakian chef who spoke like Count Dracula and I LIVE for it

But, also Polish accents, Lithuanian, Russian - all these can just make me swoon

EDIT - actually, my favourite accent is one of the above or any eastern European accent that has meshed with an Irish accent that someone has picked up since they moved here so they have hybrid-accent-realness going on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,730 ✭✭✭Balmed Out

I like soft donegal or Scottish. The least sexy is the type of Galway accent that sounds like a boring drawl. I know a girl who while attractive and all if she talked dirty could still sende yo sleep.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,207 ✭✭✭The King of Moo

French-speaking and some Scottish women speaking English (technically sometimes in the case of the latter) does it for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

A soft Scottish one is nice and French too obviously.

Donegal always does well on these things so a big aye, Shirley to all.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

My son had a pal who's mother was Scottish when we used to text to arrange meet ups she would always text the morrow for tomorrow. Her texts were as she spoke.

I love a dirty strong Scottish accent. :)
