My Diet advice needed

I run loads when I was on what’s called the ‘healthy diet’ ( High carb low fat, fruit and veg, Low G.I. carbs and all that jazz and razzamatazz) I found that I was eating 6 times a day: breakfast – mid-morning – lunch – mid-afternoon – dinner – post dinner sugar attack. That was fine when I was running 110+ mpw but I found if I dropped my mileage (sickness/injury) I kept eating the same as though I were banging out the miles and consequently, the weight rocketed. (Granted, being older impacts weight etc.)

But now that I’m in full Optimized Fat Metabolism (OFM) mode – a variation on the High Fat Low Carb diet - (it’s taken me a long time: 24 months to research, understand, experiment, and all that stuff) I’m finding that hunger and eating for the sake of it isn’t an issue.

I don’t eat breakfast anymore (coffee with whipped cream and coconut oil) and can run on that no bother. I eat around 12:30 eg – wild Alaskan salmon smothered in KerryGold butter and Cajun spice, plethora of stir-fried green leafy veg (fried in extra virgin coconut oil) and a side salad soaked in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and balsamic vinegar. Mid-afternoon, I’ll have a drink of bone broth – nicer than it sounds. Early evening, I’ll have cream cheese, nuts, seeds, celery, red peppers, and a bowl of cream with a sprinkling of berries.
Throughout the day, I’ll drink lots of water and coffee. On this/similar, I’m dropping weight (right now, it’s mainly water). But the weight will continue to drop and I’m not the slightest bit hungry, I’m doing a third of the mileage.

That said, I wouldn’t recommend this dietary approach to anybody: I think/believe/ ‘know’ it’s extremely healthy but it’s very hard to follow and there are several problems with it if you don’t know what you’re doing – deadly problems.

But on the ‘healthy diet’ , what you folks follow and I followed , I think it comes down to discipline. You’ll always be craving carbs/sugar.

    Thoughts?
