I'd have hated a day like this when I lived in D1.

Oh look, another drunk, topless 40 / 50 year old fat man with a bag of cans.

Everyone is saying the same thing about where they live when the sun is shining here.

I can think of many places id rather be while its sunny in ireland than noisy traffic filled dublin...

Galway beats the pants off Dublin (no pun intended) when it's sunny.

A short stroll from Eyre Square and you're in the Claddagh, looking out over the bay. Salthill is only a little further away.

I was up North yesterday and they had a better day than we did here, so I was glad to be there and not here.

It's 18C there now, and only 15C here.

Bad time to make this claim, to be honest. Usually our weather knocks spots off theirs, but not this week.

Mrs. Goose, looking up from whacking at the ground with a stick sixteen-hours-a-day: 'Oo's that then?

jimgoose: Dunno. Must be a Dub.

    Mrs. Goose: Why?

jimgoose: 'Ee 'asn't got shit all over 'im. But 'ee's in trakka-bottoms only and appears to be off 'is chump on Devil's Bit.

    :D

I'm not sure if it made it worse or not but they were always really friendly too.

    "D'ye wanna can?"

"Ah, no thanks I'm grand but cheers for the offer."

"Are ye sure ye won have a can? It's luvly wethar for it."

If all of this wasn't taking place at around lunchtime I might take the can to be fair.

I'm just back from the park. I brought my knitting (which I've just started to learn how to do) and a chessboard and chess book on my tablet so I wouldn't be bored. Turns out the park as wifi! So I live blogged my people watching.

The sun has been shining here all week. Just because it took it a few days to break through the dome of misery and misplaced self importance that envelopes the big smoke you think you're a bustling metropolis all of a sudden? Ha ha ha!

That's me laughing in your general direction :)

Malin Head was the warmest last Mon, although it wasn't the weather they were looking at that day ;)

I'm only typing this as i had to take a break from the sun :p

Not really, it's about 16 degrees but that's a heatwave according to Irish media.

Lovely sight, the crusties out with their cans and their tracksuits rolled up into shorts. Just wait until people are walking around with third degree burns congratulating each other on their lovely colour. Suns out, awful horrible tacky tattoos out, natch.

I hate how people on the internet just jump on any content about Dublin and immediately bring up the junkies.

A million plus people live in Dublin and there's a lot more to the city than the junkies.

Funny alright how some stupid stereotypes are rooted in the minority rather than majority.

    For others, see:
    • South Dublin = posh
    • Limerick = violent council estate dweller
    • Rural = acres-owning
    • Cavan = mean with money
    • Cork = cute hoor
    • Galway= cultured

    Hopeless attempts at wit.

Should I get one now? Did I miss a memo or something? Was i supposed to get it a few years back when I was getting my decking?
