Labour Party deputy leader Alan Kelly (him of power is a drug fame), broadcaster Brendan O'Connor (again), comedian Jason Byrne (again), and music acts The Undertones and The High Kings.

Not sure of the misery slot yet..!!

I'd just like to be the first person today to say Brendan O'Connor should be sitting in the Presenter's Chair.

The Undertones are still a cracking band, even if Feargal Sharkey won't play anymore.

No LLS for me tonight - going to see some Manic Street Preaching. What better way to avoid LLS misery by hearing songs about suicidal war photographers, animal cruelty and artists suffering from Alzheimer's.

    Dammit.

    Nice one mate, enjoy it.

They were only on The Late Late Show a few weeks ago. Not this one, Cordinho's one. America was about to meet Nicky Wire and never be the same again ...

Airplane II is on Film 4+1 till 10.00, after that 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown. Then a recording of Have I Got News For You.

Not a chance I'm watching the LLS tonight. Desperate lineup.

Ah yes, the Manic Street Preachers. Enjoy!

Further Information For Irish People: A Welsh person would be very excited about going to see the Manic Street Preachers, as they are like the U2 of Wales. In Wales for example, a "good afternoon" might consist of listening to a Manic Street Preachers cassette tape on your walkman as you are herding your sheep on Lffyenndspydd mountain, or on the way to watch the local egg chasing team.

Brendan O'Connor interviewed Ryan Tubridy on the radio last year when Tubs jumped back to the Radio 1 Mothership, and Beefy didn't hold back
When Ryan asks if he can pay tribute to the team behind his 2fm show, Brendan counters that "sounds a bit wanky" to the people at home. "Consider it done - if we start going into how great everyone is... I'll be doing a bit of it at the end here anyway." When Brendan asks if the team will be going with him, a clearly annoyed Ryan just says, "no."

"one of our favourite guests" says Tubridy

Hmmmm ... was there a vote on this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

They could've just shown a previous clip of Jason Byrne on the Late Late. It would've saved him the bother of coming in.

I broke out into a very wry smile at that "we are having a chat Ryan" bit.

Jason hitting unprecedented levels of hilarity. Fair play to him.

Dustin the Turkey on the radio today. 'RTE stands for the three things RTE don't do well. Radio, Television and Eurovision.'

Tubrid's fake laughing is a joke in itself

Maybe because everybody understands English? Sure why isn't Ryan speaking Irish?

Well why did the arsehole doing the intro do the entire thing in Irish and then gives the strobe warning in English, it's pure RTÉ sheite, they want to play the Irish card but in reality they don't have a fooking clue who their target audience is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,047 ✭✭✭Clonmel1000

    This is embarrassing.

SERIOUSLY these imitating Dublin old women accents when he has a Dublin accent already is tiresome bullsh%t

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭swine

Does this qualify as the misery slot yet?

Seems logical to me. They do the minimum duty by doing the non important bits in Irish but would be in trouble if someone had an epileptic fit because they didn't understand the warning in Irish!!
