The boys were getting worried Pauly, just in time or one of them surely would have ballsed it up.

All do, Anderson is out, uncharacteristic error there

Haha! I was swamped with work all week but couldn't let my fans down. :pac: :p

I rip the image from the UFC site and they are usually bang on the money in terms of updating the fight card so I didn't even look twice before posting it. I'm getting sloppy. :pac:

Dying for this card. Will they find a replacement for Silva I wonder or bump Maia

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 162 ✭✭nmg_ire

This should be a night, really looking forward to it. Any suggestions whos replacing silva yet?

Great card. Can't wait for maia brown. Difficult to call. Obviously fancy maia if it goes to ground but Brown is tough as nails. Rare to see such a stacked card these days.

Man I would absolutely love for Miocic to KO Werdum stiff, just absolutely wreck him and his stupid troll face. Some good fights on the card. Brown Maia is gonna be class!

best brazilian card ever by the looks of it

wonder if rua has one more big win in him
I'd imagine brown will spend most of the fight trying not to be submitted.
Souza should surely take if this goes into the second, be surprised if he couldnt beat belfort comfortably

more than anything I'd love stipe to take gold, it's a fight I can't call at all but it's great to think anyone of 4/5 fighters could win this belt which is a far cry from a couple of years ago with only cain or jds in the mix

Truth is I sent him threats by pm yesterday saying if he didn't get the finger out and do his commitments and post the thread it was a lifetime ban from the forum. He replied trying to do the McGregor spiel about how he would 'retire'..didn't get very far though and sense prevailed. :D *

*may not reflect real events and Paully may have just been busy and said he would get on it once he had a minute

    Werdum by Sub.

If brown keeps it standing, he'll KO Maia. If it goes to ground, he's ****ed. I'll go with Brown TKO.

Looks like a great card to me too. My mate was on for going but sadly I don't have the squids :(

    Miocic via Submission
Main event is intriguing. Hard to tell how the fight will go. I fancy Miocic, at some stage in the fight, be able to get up close and tag Werdum a few times, and possibly hurt him in the clinch with dirty boxing. While Werdum's striking is much improved, his obvious strength is on the ground. I think Miocic has very very good defensive grappling though and I can see him knocking Werdum out in the latter rounds or taking a decision.

Jacare/Vitor is another intriguing one. Jacare should win this but you can't sleep on Vitor landing something spectacular and putting him away, but I think it'll be similar to his fight with Weidman with him getting TKO'd by GNP or submitted.

What a fight Maia/Brown is too. Brown has excellent takedown defence, if he can keep it standing it could be a big big win for him.

Matt Brown just gave the finger to the Brazilian crowd at the weigh ins, gas man, I won't enjoy seeing him get strangled he's a good skin.

Cyborg in at 139, I'd say she could make 135.

Thought that too, Rousey for example looks far worse making 135 than Cyborg does at 139. I'm sure she'll be booked at 135 for her next fight, she knows she has to make that weight to get any big fights in the UFC.

Don't really see Brown giving Maia much trouble. He'll get one or two good flurries so he has to make the most of them.
Maia via decision and Werdum to Sub Miotic in the 2nd.

Ha would be epic if Stipe pulled that face after obliterating Fabio.

Will the main event be on around the same time that they are on when held in Vegas? or will this be a little later?

Can't wait for tonights fights especially looking forward to the Maia fight and the Cyborg fight. I'd say Maia is about two wins away from a title shot, no way will he get one for beating Matt Brown. Then again we have seen weirder things but I doubt it.

Cyborg not looking to bad either at 139. Her fight tonight seems like a gimme fight to get the ball rolling for her in the UFC. I reckon she should have this fight finished within the first round, Cyborg by KO.

I would like to see Miocic win but I think Werdum is just a better fighter all over at the moment, then again in Heavy Weight you never is know what is going to happen... so unpredictable.

On paper this seems like a real good card. Shame about Silva getting injured though.

Think I'll have to stay awake for this one tonight :D Going to do some sort of accumulator but not sure where the value is yet, I'll have to go check out paddy power and see is there any value at all.

Dana not happy about Matt Brown flipping off the Brazilian crowd. Is he serious? Not as if they didn't deserve it.

I missed the weigh ins. Why did he flip them off? Were they booing him and if so, why?

They were doing that "you're gonna die" chant, it's expected from the Brazilian fans but he had every right to flip them off for it.

I hate the Brazilian crowd and there constant booing, the only reason im watching this event is because its a great card but iv given up on other events at this stage.

I feel sorry for Leslie Smith, she's getting fed to Cyborg. Cyborg is going to be 15-20 pounds heavier in the cage, George Lockhart said she'll be about 168-170. Leslie Smith's walking around weight is 145.

She ruiened my accumulator with her last fight so I'm delighted.

Lads how much should the ppv cost? I'm trying to get it through the app and it's charging me almost €60. Wanna order and watch in the morning

The last one I bought was 194 and it was 25 through the app on the Xbox and I wasn't able to watch it the next day so be careful what way you buy it!

I don't think you can do that mate. Cost should be €24.99.

The UFC app says the price and when you click into it, it also brings me to almost €60. Madness. They need to fix that. You can buy it on UFC.tv and it stays active for 24 hours so you could watch it tomorrow no problem.

I also see that they don't have the Youtube option for this fight.

Rogan seems to be doing less and less these days. It's hard to see his contract being renewed in August the way things are going. I don't think he enjoys it as much any more as his research seems to be sloppy of late and he's more and more critical of the UFC as the weeks go on. His podcast must be a nice little earner too.

I'll miss him when he goes though. I've always associated him with the UFC and he'll be a loss IMO.
