Problem adding subtitles to ripped DVD

Hello, this is probably the wrong place to put my query but this is the most recent post about MacX DVD Ripper. My problem:
I have a DVD that is not for this region - I have successfully ripped the DVD to my hard drive but I can't seem to do it with adding the subtitles (it's a French film). This is what I have done to date:

    1. When the DVD loads, I choose the main title (51 in this case).
    2. I click 'Edit'.
    3. When the menu opens, I click on the subtitle menu. Beside the 'Inner' click box (in the drop down menu), Subtitle1 (English) is there.
    4. I choose 'Enable Subtitles' and 'Apply to all'.
    5. The menu closes and the drop down list of all the titles that was 'Subtitle disabled' is now changed to Track 1 (English). When I preview the movie - it works perfectly.
    6. I press the 'Run' button and the DVD burns successfully. However, when I open the file, the movie file plays but there are no subtitles.

Can anyone help with my quest?

Also, I have a few DVDs that don't have English subtitles - I have tried opensubtitles and downloaded the files but when I add the file to the movie, it is the default French subtitle that goes onto the DVD.

Thanks for any reponses in advance.

I move this to its own thread, OP. You'll hopefully get better responses this way. That other thread was too old.

    Thanks for that.
