Is it just me or is 134 sagging in the middle?

Some of the 121s looked like that at times if you go through old photos. Your not the first person to say that either, think it was said on the IRM forums too.

The locos are being moved at some stage on Sunday morning; don't waste your time sitting it out with a camera as the transfer will most likely will take place before dawn.

No, the larks will be traveling on the RPSI three day world tour of Mayo :pac:

That post on facebook was bull*****. Also posted from a untrusted source.

No transfer to take place on Sunday, bit hard considering the Phoenix Park Tunnel route is closed 1100 Saturday until 1900 Sunday for Engineering Works.

Update on this, the transfer is set to run about 10:00 tomorrow, hopefully all goes well and the locos will have a new place to sleep tomorrow night.

Movement due in less than an hour and the loco to haul them will be 071 in classic livery. There is to be a photo stop at Drumcondra station on route just before 11.

Wish I took the day off work to get out for some photos in the cracking weather.

slight change of plans but hopefully should still happen today

141 and 175 made it over in the end but 134 had to be left behind. Hope it's not a serious problem, and just a brake issue.

134 should be leaving any minute now

On Tuesday 19th July, IE 071 in its retrotrain CIE livery was used to haul the RPSI diesels B141, 175 and 134 from Inchicore to the RPSI Shed at Connolly.

Bit of an in-joke from one of the staff involved. Delivering the presents to the RPSI from IE in Inchicore.

what's up with 141 that it can't run under it's own power any more as well, was it just a cosmetic restore paint wise originally?

It could at the time of the Diesel Do railtour. I'd say she just hasn't run for a long time so would need some maintenance to start again.

I also heard reports that heritage diesels are banned from the mainline? Or is that just the ITG locos?

Been a while since they and and need a bit of work before the move under their own power.

No heritage diesel ban, I thought the ITG thing was because the had no licence.

ITG issue at the time was the cost of insurance.

That guy who helped 134 start up so smoothly should be called the loco wisperer. Beautiful stuff.

I liked the comment on the Facebook page about hooking 134 up to 175 and having a run. I won't happen now Obviously but be great if down the line(ha!) it happened.

What would have been nice would have been if the RPSI managed to secure a Mk3 push pull set for 134 to haul. They wouldn't need Irish Rail to provide shunt release locos along a tour route. It would be nice to travel on a Mk3 again in this country without have to spend a few grand for the privilege.

maybe the ones at moyasta could be running one day, all though i don't know if they are pushpull ones. it's a shame its far away, but at least the stock has a place to be. the nation will be forever greatful to all concerned.

The Cafe coach is pushpull, the standard is a typical Mk3 but can be converted with wiring, air con removed and opening windows installed. Still you are at best left with a DVT, one standard and a bar coach. You wouldn't be able to sell enough tickets to make a profit on a tour.

Could some of the Mk2F coaches they got be modified to work with them,,.... may be an extremely outside possibility. Still, lots of money can make things happen. Getting it is the problem, and steam traction is what makes the RPSI the most of it.

there is a very specific plan for those coaches and it doesn't involve railtours on the main line.

    Which is a crying shame...
