    Hi all,

I got myself a Chromecast yesterday on a whim while out shopping. I had heard my brother talk about it a while back, so said I'd try it.

I got Showbox (it's good I guess, can be slow at time....and starting a film in the middle or anywhere besides the start...is a real pain) and Allcast (free version..the amount of ads are insane).

But I was wondering if anyone can give some advice as to what other good apps etc there are out there for it.

Is there something available where I could stream live football or live TV.
I don't live in Ireland anymore so I don't have access to a lot of 'LIVE' English language TV...and I miss my sports.

Also another question, do I need to control the Chromecast from phone or laptop ?.....Is it possible to install apps onto the Chromecast itself and use a remote control for navigation.

Sorry if it's the wrong forum etc, the gadget forum seems pretty dead.

    Thanks

Legit football is difficult to stream, because the Chromecast don't play with the Sky desktop player at all.

But, any Chrome tab will cast to the Chromecast easily.

For any football on FTA UK Channels you can use Filmon and cast the tab, I've used that on occasion. I think Filmon is legit.

If you are hoping for a Kodi-esque experience, then I don't think you'll get it with the Chromecast.

also, to add, if you look at the top of this forum there's a huge Chromecast thread stickied

    I did.

I only got the chromecast, I wanted to try a few apps first before I start paying for everything.
