Really Fancy Fairly legal at 14/1. Won his point and bought by JP after he beat one of his that was well fancied. The original owners thought a lot of him, Was very impressed with his maiden hurdle win when he jumped V well.

I think the mark of 129 he has been given is lenient enough and I expect to see huge improvement now upped to 3 miles. Think he should be ok on the ground and have had a decent cut ew at 14s.

First Figaro 3/1PP Really good moving horse and was given far to much to do at Cheltenham beaten only 1/2 L by Agusta Kate giving her 7lb when both Down the field. This ground is perfect and a huge run expected.Seeyouallincoppers 11/1 his run at Cheltenham in November in a race that turned out to be top class was excellent. He made a bad mistake and yet was only beaten 1/2L by a horse who went on to 138 .He was only beaten just over 9L by Uknowhatimeanharry who is now 152.This could be a plunge horse as that run entitles him to be fav.Big big player,NAP.

    New to this.

3.40 Punch: Fancy Joshua lane even tough its Mcmanus's second string. Ground will suit. Improving every race. 4 lengths behind Blazer in last race who is now rated 142. Was 126 on the day. Came 3rd in champion bumber 2014 so has the potential. j Moore takes 5 off. 10/1

4:50 Punch: Uncle Junior to place 5/1

6.50 sedgfield: Gin Cobbler , currently 10/1, out of the handicap at 9-10 , but weighted with 10-0 and 7lb claimer riding. Won of 97 on good ground before. on 89 today good to firm.

5.45 Sedgfield: Runswick Relax: Won last 2 starts over fences over c&d, returns to hurdles now rated 8lbs lower than the last of those wins, if showing the same ability over hurdles can take advantage of his low hurdles mark. Slack yard in great form so far this year too + this is his track (10 winners from 16 runners here at Sedgfield this year and 6 winners from 9 over hurdles) 5/2

Any thoughts on roconga today guys!? He should be fit from his exploits at dundalk recently; god knows he owes me a few quid!

None I overly fancy today. Was debating Sizing Codelco at 7s last night but left it and could rue it. Fancied Cantlow at Chelt when given a bad ride but wouldn't have won but chanced him e/w at 25s. Small e/w on Lake Chaplain in the opener at 20s with five places he could be well handicapped off that mark

Road to Respect too big at 33s in the 3 mile handicap, ran well when trying to make all last time behind Coney Island. 5 places

Only one bet done so far and it's Lieutenant Colonel in the Stayers Hurdle, 25/1.

Opening days haven't been great for me so only went with one today and that is roconga, I do fancy seeyouallincoppers though could be a good EW bet

Got serious word from the yard for Sunni May in the Bumper

you have serious word for this, the poster earlier was all over first figaro and paddy mullins said invitation only is his ride of the week and wont be beat....should be an interesting race.

Only passing on what i was told.. As they used to blabber on Blind Date.... "The choice is yours"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭carman2011

I know and thanks for the info, I was going to have a decent bet on the fav from what i heard, but since the other poster put the 2nd fav up strongly and u have heard the 3rd fav is fancied, its now a no bet race for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,553 ✭✭✭✭Copper_pipe

I really fancied Sunni May on its most recent run. She was 3rd behind Blow by Blow. I was questioning that form up until yesterday. Blow by Blow was game from the front and won . Sunni May has been beaten by a few Mullins horses, given how highly touted Invitation Only is surely he will also beat Sunni May.

6.40 Punchestown Douvan looks unstoppable but Willie's who have run at Cheltenham and Aintree have all posted worse RPRs here. He still could have too much in hand but I'll definitely take on Sizing John and The Game Changer with all this rain about. Don't think they have much on hand with Ttebbob and Baltimore Rock anyway who wouldn't mind slower ground. Harrington always has hers primed for Punchestown but Ttebbob is off the back of 2 poor efforts and the concern for me is if he does get back to form Robbie Power won't give the horse a breather when Douvan comes to challenge and weaken out the back. Ruby salvaged 2nd place for Un De Sceaux by not chasing Sprinter and giving him a breather at Cheltenham but I've seen so many other jockeys blow any chance of a decent finish by failing to give their front runners a breather in better company when a classy horse comes to challenge. I'm going for Baltimore Rock e/w at 40s. If he stayed up at Cheltenham he wouldn't have been far off the form to place here and he was very keen that day too. He should improve given he's only had 2 starts for Mulholland and 3 runs over fences and getting 10/1 to place here makes him a good bet here.

I fail to see where all this love is coming from for rocongo.

o grady is finished as a top level trainer. all his key staff have either died or left in the past 18 months and the results are a fair indicator. the yard has not won one handicap hurdle all season.

Ran a decent race last time out over this trip.
3 lengths off Jury Duty that day.

    5 places Psddy Powet
    33-1

Whats with the drift on Augustin in the last 10s this morn now 33-1 could be some value had there.

I would love to see Brian Gleeson turn around and tell those idiots to f**k o**
Same idiots are there every year, that twit from tipp, at his age you'd think he'd have some cop on.
I shouldn't be letting them annoy me as a cracking days racing ahead. Its all about alpha des obeaux for me.

Backed him at Cheltenham and Aintree and swore I wouldn't touch him today but he looked unbelievably well in the pre parade. Travelled really well and got into a great rhythm.

At Fishers Cross another cliff horse for me out later, must have something on now after that!

Looked back on notes March 28th from Mouse talking about Alpha Des Obeaux " he is most definitely not a hurdler but could be the best chaser I've ever had really looking forward to next season with him".He may win today but 5/4 is not a bet in any shape as I believe he won't be beaten up as his targets next season are over fences and they wouldn't like to leave a mark on him.

If the horse, If In Doubt actually avoids getting into trouble, like he did at Cheltenham and Aintree he could/should win

I'd say there's plenty of joe soaps ranting and raving over that REF in the last race at Chelmsford. That is, unfortunately, the rules of racing and I say that as someone on the horse. Brutal.

No point taking it out on cashiers.

Have had a bet on Turcagua e/w here, was off the track for a long time before running down the field at Cheltenham but was keen throughout, likely come on for that and Katie will have learnt about some of his quirks. here's hoping.
