Need some advice/point in the right direction here, or even just recommend someone who can advise me.

I'll explain; I have sinusitis and catarrh regularly. Went to the local health shop to buy some essential oils for the bath (I like rosemary oil, helps my breathing, lovely scent :D )

The lady who owns the shop asked me if I tried eliminating dairy from my diet, asked if I eat much dairy products. I do. She suggested i eliminate all dairy for a month to see if it helps.

All sounds great except dairy is in fecking everything. I cooked a stew earlier there is lactic acid in the blasted oxo cube!

I've a few yoghurts and stuff in the fridge which i will have eaten by the weekend. I'm going to give this a shot starting next week. But its going to be a pain in the hole!

Any help/advice/website recommendations most welcome :D

I work in a health food store, we are told this from.day one, but it's a complete myth and has been proven has a myth, I'll see if I can dig out the science behind it...ever notice how health food stores seem to sell milks and chocolates that are dairy free

I had surgery for my sinuses a couple of years ago, and asked the ENT and the nurses about the benefits of cutting out dairy. They all said that most of the evidence they've seen is anecdotal at best, but it would do no harm to try it.

I still get sinus issues, and I still eat dairy :pac: cutting it out didn't make any difference to me, but maybe it will for you? Even cutting down rather than eliminating completely might give you some information on whether or not it's helping.

Sulphites, on the other hand, definitely make a difference to me. No wine when sinuses play up, otherwise I'll be even more miserable. Boo.

    Hey OP,

More anecdotal evidence for you but I've cut down on dairy massively (although I am unwilling to give up cheese, as it is bang) and I rarely get a sinus problem now. As it goes I have acne too and that also improved by mostly just giving up milk in tea and cereal.

Lactic acid is not dairy. Lactose is.

I have chronic rhinitis (basically I've got sinusitis nearly constantly). I cut out dairy entirely for six months once. It made absolutely no difference.
