Since thus is starting this weekend this thread probably deserves a bump. Done a search and this was the only thread that popped up.

Anyone know what day be best to go have a look Saturday or Sunday? I'm thinking in order to go the Sunday you would want to be there very early.

Anyone know what route there taking?

Saturday - All 100 Gumball cars will start arriving on the grid in preparation for their 3000 mile journey.
Get up close and see an array of the world's most expensive, impressive and rare automobiles.

Sunday - Witness the beginning of the 2016 Gumball 3000 Rally from the start line as all the Gumball cars
start their engines and are waved off under the start flag as they begin their first leg of the rally to Edinburgh via Belfast.

Always wondered about this after watching a documentary on Netflix about it last year. Do they have many problems with the police in whichever country they're in or what way are they felt with? I'm assuming they don't always stick to the rules of the road.

I was on the fast ferry from Holyhead this evening and there were loads of these guys on board. Amongst them were a Lambo Hurricane, an Aston DBS, a F12 Berlinetta, a Porsche 918, an SLS, and loads of bentleys.

Went in at lunch time, few cars lined up, three F12s, G wagon, 675 LT, 458, C63 Black Series, Aventador, AMG S63 Cabrio.....new shape M5 aswell which I have to say sounded great but looked like any other 520d, very underwhelming.

F12s look so good in the flesh. The Project 7 F Type looked well also

Guy on the PA was a douche, first question he asked the 458 owner was how can he afford the car

The F12 is pretty much my favourite car of all time. A ridiculously overpowered GT with a decent level of comfort and luxury, with looks to die for. Love it.

Anyone thinking of going in my advice is go now. Lovely evening with very few people around, while the cars are cordoned off it doesn't hamper views/photos . Tomorrow will be jammers and you will see very little

Don't. It's closed. Street closed off can't get near cars. Just came in. Loads of people complaining, but there's nothing the staff can do anyway. It closed at 7. I'm leaving now. Took ages to find parking too..

Yep, I'm in car on way home. I didn't take any photos to show, as there was nothing to photograph. :-(

Yeah, probably. I'm just home now, I was texting/rushing that message out, to stop anyone else from ending up in there.
There was quite a few annoyed people.
Town was very quiet, there was a wedding/Black Tie party about two doors away from Merrion and that was the noisiest thing in Dublin that I saw.

Pity, It would've been nice to have seen them. I'll head up towards Dundalk in the morning and see if I can catch a few of them.

Does anyone know if they all make their own way to Scotland (once the race is underway, I presume they're on their own), or will they all get a/the Ferry.


EDIT - Just saw this

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to see Gumball 3000 arrive into the Titanic Quarter before they take the ferry to Cairnryan in Scotland!

Yea I went past Merrion square at 8.45pm and only saw Gumball cars go through the barrier which were a Silver Lotus Elise, blue 911 and some kind of tank on wheels, had no idea what it was and I had just arrived so was still putting my camera together.

Free access at 10am tomorrow and they depart at 11am.......keep that to yourself as I don't want crowded photographs.

Any idea what this tank on wheels is?......and I call myself a car buff ��

I only saw one car and a few random Porsches that had no decal, were on the wrong side of the barrier, but had personalised plates and other things. Probably their day to day cars..

Are you sure about the 11am departure? Was planning on heading up to Dundalk and catching them somewhere there, but may have an extra hour now.

Yea, I was talking to one of the Gumball events crew and he said that Hasselhoff is raising the Starter Flag at 11am.

Check out their twitter account he said as they have no blog.

Is there a planned leaving time? Seems a bit difficult to get a concrete schedule of times.

It was meant to be flags starting at 10am according to one of the links early in the thread, just heading out to a bridge over the M1 now to try get a view. If anyone is on there and also on here be great if you could update when they actually leave thanks.
