That was filmed in September apparently.
Seems I don't need to buy a wedding hat just yet.

Nah its all off with them, went on a few dates and that was it. Nothing lasting came from it.

I kind of feel a bit sorry for Phil, he’s a moron no doubt but I’d say he’s broke, lonely and ‘living off’ tallafornia. 20 years you’ll find he’s a bar fly chasing the young ones.
Gay girls were nice, neither seemed to have much experience dating but seemed good fun.
Red haired lady, fair fecks to her.
Trisha was very bubbly but felt sorry for her with Eminem, I was 10000000% sure he was gay and his date would be a man.
Paula was intense but lovely it worked out.

Just from seeing the UK and Irish versions I think the Irish version suffers from a far shallower pool of applicants. Even on top of the obvious fact that the UK edition will have more applicants so they can pick better ones.

I don't like to deal in generalisations, but I just think your average Irish person would be far more self conscious about going on a programme like this.

Almost every single person on the programme has had a few people here go "I know him" or " I went to school with her". Ireland's a comparatively small place and there's far less likelihood of being lost in the crowd.

As a result of this, the majority of people willing to subject themselves to this sort of attention are the people who want any sort of attention. This generally turns people away from the programme as they don't want to see z list celebs and vloggers, they want normal people.

People seem to love watching divorcees and old people on it, but ireland's divorce rate is much lower than the UKs so the pool is again far shallower.

I really thought he was gay too tbh
I thought they were totally mismatched, not that either was out of each other's league but physically they just didn't look like a couple..and personality wise I thought she was a lot more light hearted and easy to get on with

I enjoyed series 1 more, as series 2 and 3 seems to feature more "wannabe reality stars" from social media/YT/TV etc.,

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change this World

    Pile of sh!te.

Episode 1 and 3 were unwatchable. 2 seems like the only good episode we’re getting. Put this out of its misery and reduce our tv license while yer at it.

    Muck.

I never watched Tallafornia so didn't know who he was.
    It made no difference.
He was crude, rude, swearing- his outfit made him look like he jumped from a tree into an already too tight everything.

First impressions count for so much in every day life.
Unless someone takes him to the side and has a few subtle words about how not to act on a date, then yeah, he'll be the 49 year old singleton still wondering where it all went wrong.

And to think he's slept with 100 women?
    I have no more words.

I find it totally believable. I was born in 95 so I was a school child in early 2000 like her, and I remember a lot of children used to touch the black children's hair (not skin though) , though it wasn't malicious generally

And she did say she didn't believe any minority child would go through that today in irish schools as its become such a diverse country.

Ireland was definitely considerably more racist in early celtic tiger era though imo

Just because he said he slept with 100 doesnt mean its true
I was so glad when she said no to phil after he was all cocky saying she was into him
He doesnt deserve any girl with behaviour like that and it annoys me that he managed to find any girl ever when acting like that

I don't really feel sorry for people who end up living pathetic lives when they are utter shítehawks.

The gobsh*te is probably well aware of his attitude. He seems to be trying to create an image of a cheeky ladies man which he can then feed off. Him and his date were interviewed on 2fm the other day too, so he's achieved his aim of getting a bit of spotlight to some extent.

Replacing genuine people with ex-Reality TV personalities who are trying to scramble their way onto the Z list ruins any possible authenticity in the show. Rubbish decision to have that fella on.

Agree...it's as much a blind date for the viewers as it is for the daters, so having Z list "celebs" on just ruins the whole uniqueness of the show. It becomes all too predictable and not exciting.

    Does that include blow-up dolls?

Jesus that tallafornia bloke was insufferable. She seemed like a really nice, down to earth woman, stuck with that gob****e all night.

'i still go out on the pull' - who in their 30s still talks like that. He was like some reject off Ibiza uncovered 2.

If the Monaghan girl is reading this..please consider applying for the summer Big Brother..
Imagine the entertainment value of a character like her. I'd watch for her alone.

Phil may have been a knob but his date was by far the most interesting of the episode, I did laugh at his comments a few times. I really think he played up to the cameras a bit, he can't be that much un self aware.

and there in lies the problem!! you've seen an edited view of some person who comes off as somewhat normal in contrast with a string of ****wits and she's got an endorsement to move up the next level of reality ****e!!!
some people are easily entertained and and have shallow imaginings of what's entertaining I suppose...

The pool seems so shallow that they really need to try and partner up with POF or Tinder here to get more genuine applicants. That or can it, cos it's painfully evident the last 2 series' how limited their applicants' are.

You'd think that but I literally know 3 people personally who signed up for the show!and they didn't get put on tv, just in the background, I don't even have a big circle of friends so I think they're actually just picky and only want funny character types on it!

Did the 3 who were on it find they got a good match?

None of them were terrible dates but two of my friends didn't meet their date again, the third guy Im not friends with so don't know how that worked out

Jaysus, their dates must have been like watching paint dry if they didn't get shown ahead of some of the dross we've endured.

The applicant selects if they want to be a main dater or a background one I thought?

Yep but I imagine not all those who choose to be a main dater make the cut on the finished aired dates.

Oh definitely. They need some kind of shock value/novelty- be that appearance, occupation, life experiences.
All the ones they pick have some kind of unique aspect to latch onto.
