What is your favourite snack? Something you tuck into when watching the telly at home.

At the moment, for me, it's a toss up between celery sticks, melted cheese and cherry tomatoes and cheese on crackers.

    What's yours?

Snack a Jacks are unbelievably tasty. A sort of happy medium - not actually healthy as such but a hell of a lot better than crisps, which I prefer them to.

Discovers the other savages have eaten all the crisps.

Ended up with a slice of boot bread (this is what my Oh calls it, I think it's an unsliced batch loaf) with a pile of butter and some cheese.

Peanut butter on... something, anything. If there's no anything to put it on, just give me a spoon and I'll get at it direct from the source. If there's no spoon, I'll use my hand.

Something like 60% fat, isn't it?

I like yogurts as a snack, but they don't really take the edge off a hunger pang for me. So I put a few dollops of natural yogurt with muesli and throw in some wheat germ and Chia seeds. Hunger pangs gone. Banana and peanut butter is another favoroute of mine.

Pre-nut allergy (recent) I would have said Brazil nuts and almonds and any nut butter. Miss them so much ;(

    Crackers and cheese

    Blueberries

    Corn cakes with various toppings

Chocolate digestives and a big mug of tea!

50grams of fat per 100grams of peanut butter.

Broken down into three different types of fat

    Saturated fat 10 g (bad)
    Polyunsaturated fat 14 g (good)
    Monounsaturated fat 24 g (good)

Saturated fat. This is a type of fat that comes mainly from animal sources of food, such as red meat, poultry and full-fat dairy products. Saturated fat raises total blood cholesterol levels and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, which can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. Saturated fat may also increase your risk of type 2 diabetes

Polyunsaturated fatty acids. This is a type of fat found mostly in plant-based foods and oils. Evidence shows that eating foods rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids improves blood cholesterol levels, which can decrease your risk of heart disease. These fatty acids may also help decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Monounsaturated fatty acids. This is a type of fat found in a variety of foods and oils. Studies show that eating foods rich in monounsaturated fatty acids improves blood cholesterol levels, which can decrease your risk of heart disease. Research also shows that these fatty acids may benefit insulin levels and blood sugar control, which can be especially helpful if you have type 2 diabetes.

    Everything in moderation eh?
    :)

Erdnusslocken peanut snack things from Germany. Good jaysus they are amazing.
I'd also settle for dark chocolate digestives as a snack, or a tub of ben and jerrys for a gluttonous snack.

    Bombay Mix!

I used to be able to get Karachi Mix in Dublin years ago. Like Bombay Mix except covered in the same stuff as dry roasted peanuts.

Impossible to stop snacking on until I overdid it one night and woke a few hours later completely dehydrated. I swallowed two pints of water before I could even function enough to work out what had happened!

I love those olives stuffed with almonds from Aldi/Lidl. They're aces.

Yep, I hear ya. I have to limit myself, or I'd be the size of a small continent. Tortilla crisps with home made guacamole is a favourite, but really anything but salt & vinegar will do. Quite pasrtial to peanuts too. Oh, and roasted almonds are surprisingly yum.
