So 1st this year, 1st next year.
    2 2nd rounders this year
    3 rounder this year

Seems Rams get 4th and 6th round Titans picks

Big win for Tennessee in that trade. Presume my prediction of 2 QB's gone in first 2 picks is now a reality.

Should we start our mock draft again?

And this is why mock drafts are a joke. I know they're a bit of fun on a forum like this or whatever but How people like Mel Kiper and Todd McShaw have made a living out of them is beyond me.

QBs will go in the first two picks - the only question is whether the Browns will take a QB or whether they will trade out of the no.2 and stockpile extra picks.

    The Titans get -

    no. 15
    no. 43
    no. 45
    no. 76

1st round and 3rd round next year.

The Rams have given up a lot and if the QB doesn't work out they will have serious holes in the roster for years to come.

That is an absolute truck load of picks, they better hope they draft Aaron Rodgers 2.0.

Why are individual trades getting their own threads? Especially in this instance where there are no players involved so we basically talking about teams switching numbers.

Ohh i like No1, hes really a game changer, solid track record and a bit of star power but i really think the no frills hard work of No15 and solid attitude of No43 far outweigh him in this deal :pac:

just watching an interview with Jrob, he said this trade has been in progress for the last several weeks, discussions started at the combine.

They had Ramsey and Tunsil in over the last couple of days too

Also says that he wouldnt rule out a move back up in the draft

You don't think this is worthy of a thread? Are you for real?

Titans fans should be doing cartwheels. That war-chest for a left tackle prospect.

The fact St.Louis traded to 1 and not 3 tells me they have a clear preference. Interesting to see which.

Indeed they did. Rams better hope their pick doesn't end up like RGIII

if the QB is awful, Fisher is done imo

Good job announcing it today. I've had enough of Kobe/Golden State Warriors.

Just reading up on it here https://t.co/B3Pjqh63HQ this trade sounds like madness from a team that is desperate to make a splash because of the move to a big tv area.

You are right Fisher and that whole staff is done if this turns out to be a bust on Carson Wentz or whoever they decide to go with. Biggest draft trade in history and nobody even knows if there is a lock no.1 pick, farcical move imo!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

That trade is mental considering the mixed reviews that the QBs are getting. This could set the Titans up for years.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭jack presley

He should have been done a long time ago.

I know it's a tough division they're in but with the haul of players they've drafted over the past few years and they've still not had a winning record.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭jack presley

So for someone who knows nothing about the 2 QBs at the top of the draft, which one will they go for and is he more likely to be Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf.

They will go for Wentz in my opinion:

Goff has a decent floor good celing
Wentz has a low floor but an elite celing

Its worth noting that when the Rams Redskins Trade Rape of 2012 happened...neither team greatly improved in the long term

The rams did to be honest they have a very very good team they just compete in the toughest division and have a fisher as a coach

We all know the Rams did much better in the trade than the Redskins but the big irony is that the Redskins have 2 division titles since the trade while the Rams haven't had a winning record.

I know, I know their division is a million times stronger but I still find that amusing.

Also RGIII was a far greater prospect than any QB in this years draft, on paper anyway.

Congrats Helima!... delighted for u and the Titans.

(and for the Chargers!!, looks like we have our pick of the non QBs now, Mr Rivers meet Mr Tunsil thanks v much)

This is true but the big difference this time is the Titans appear to have a franchise QB already and can now build around him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

The Titans, in terms of pick value, have essentially gotten the value of another overall 1st pick, in this trade. Its hugely stacked in their favour. If they remotely hit on this draft class, to go with their recent ones, they could really become a force.

The Rams, on the other hand, have given up a load to grab a QB who will play with virtually nothing around him, unless they hit on a few offensive players in the late round picks. Their OL is crap, no tight end, and a poor receiver group. It'll be tough work for Wentz or Goff.

And that's another thing. No clear number 1 QB in this draft. Hell, Browns could trade out of two, pick up a similar ransom, and grab Hackenburg in the 3rd and he could turn out better than Wentz or Goff.

I think the Titans will go

    OT
    CB
    S
    HB

we need help in a few areas..

As long as he can hand the ball off to Gurley, he'll be grand.

Given that Mariota is their QB of choice going forward, this can only be considered a win for the Titans. Gives them a chance to address weaker areas of the team almost instantaneously.

Did very well for themselves there.

Good Guy Rams paying their karmic debt for the 2012 trade.

Rams massively overpaid - but they obviously want Wentz!
What it does do is it will put pressure on Niners to do something - mabe trade with Browns for second pick - if there was enough to give the browns i think that they would ride RG3 for this year and pick up an elliot or Buckner at 7 and build on their picks!

Mock drafts everywhere are being ripped up as we speak haha

Not sure why this puts pressure on SF to move up? We've holes everywhere and will be picking top 10 the next few years so be a bit silly to make a huge trade to number 2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

This is good news for SF, as it is for everyone else picking towards the top, with better players dropping down in favour of QBs with huge question marks over them.

I was only listening this morning to a Giants podcast discussing the "nightmare scenario" of neither of the QBs getting picked in the top ten at all, thus weakening the available talent pool.

Obviously you can't rule out the two QBs being huge successes but they don't look like no-brainer picks.

Don’t see where that pressure on the 49ers comes from. They would be feeling it if they’d traded Kap but can see them just not reaching for a QB now.

This is one of the reasons why I thought it was madness to pay the Broncos to take Kap off their hands.

Where does the OT that the Titans were predicted to pick at 1 fall to now?

Could see the Titans move up to try and grab Stanley now. They've 3 second round picks now I think.

yep, and Jrob has said he's no problem moving up if there's a guy they think they can get

I'm just shocked that the Rams would go this route to take a QB. I think they drafted a kid better than anyone in this draft last year in Sean Mannion.

To be fair to them they have draft well since Fisher arrived and they are just a QB away from being a powerhouse imo.

Still I just don't see a QB in this draft that improves them anymore than Sean Mannion would.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,017 ✭✭✭Leslie91

Stanley could well be there at #15 in any event.

Why are some NFL GMs so short sighted? Stupid trade by the Rams. Titans with a big win!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,434 ✭✭✭Jolly Red Giant

More rumours on the back of this trade -

The Broncos have now been linked with a trade for Rams QB Case Keenum - Keenum played for the Texans when Kubiak was coach and knows the Kubiak offence (price being suggested is a fourth round pick).

Along with trying to move out of the no.2 pick it looks like the Browns are trying to move Joe Thomas for a first rounder.
