I have an iPhone. I charge it usually twice a day. Once at night, once at work during the day.
Today I dropped it and smashed my screen. Had to get it replaced (gutted, 100 crisp ones :( ) and now in 18 mins it's gone from 84% to 39%

Devastated. Might as well have a landline at this rate

    Now it's 36 :(

    I'm not your m8

    :pac:

IPhone 5c. Rubbish, but most phones are these days, get the full day out of it all the same. Can't say the same for its tiny 8gb memory. Can't even take a photo without it warning me the storage is low, got nothing on it, maybe 100 photos, no music and a handful of apps.

    It's terrible.

I charge mine every night. iPhone 6s. Whenever I go to music festivals I take my Nokia. It lasts about 4-5 days! AND even has the Internet on it.

You paid €100 to fix a phone that last 47 seconds? I expect it'll be tomorrow before you reply!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

I'm charging it now right and from my farewell 2% message, to now, it's 17% on charge. Wtf??

I only paid for the screen to be fixed (it wouldn't turn on at all)
Do you think dropping it could break the battery? Or could the battery have been switched

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

My battery was fine before I smashed the screen

iPhone 6. Usually a day, but then I knew this when buying, so no complaining.

Turn off all the unnecessary crap, like apps in the background, bluetooth and wifi if you don't need it on.

I charge it twice a day and the phone has a dodgy socket.

    I have a reconditioned iphone5.

IPhone 6 and charge it every night. It's usually got a decent amount of charge left but would be pushing it to get two full days and don't want to be stuck.

Onece a phone can comfortably get a full day that's as good as you really need imo.

I have a lumia 950xl that I use pretty much all day without issue (power wise anyway). I was out shooting photos all day, checking websites and still had 45% charge this evening.

One of the really great things about it is the wireless charging so at work I just pop it on the charging plate and it's always ready to go with zero faff. Weekends I put it on charge going to bed at night and it lasts all day.

It has usb type c fast charging (rather than quick charge which for some reason can end up being slower) so even if you're running low it doesn't take long at all to get a decent charge back in to it. This bit does require certain hardware.

If you think you're going to be away for a long time put it on battery saver and it really does give a great stretch to the battery.

Finally, it has a replaceable battery so if it's really a concern for you you could just carry a spare battery or a fast charge compatible power bank (better option in my opinion, easier to charge).

I have an ancient (by today's standards) Samsung phone and charge it once a week. Maybe twice a week if I listen to the radio on it at work.

Moto G. I charge it every night and it lasts me for the day with intensive use.

Sometimes, if I know that I won't be home until late evening/early night, then I'd charge it during the day but it's out of paranoia rather than a dead battery.

Every second day, some of the time, every day the rest of the time. Year old HTC yoke, best phone I ever had.

Haven't a clue, charge it any time I'm nearby a charger and I carry a small battery pack thing on me too.

    No, I'm not addicted!

Iphone 5c. Charge every night and that's fine by me. Tis one of the best phones I have ever owned. Cracked the screen back in January and it's still working away without a bother. Can't understand the hate but then again, I don't give a toss.

    UMI Iron Pro running CyanogenMod...

Fairly heavy usage, about 36 hours until I hit the 10% mark..

I have a Galaxy S6 and the battery is okay. If I don't use it too much I'd get the whole day out of it. I use it too much though so I charge it at night and maybe once during the day. My old phone, a galaxy s4 mini had to be charged about 4 times a day. Ridiculous!

A pox on both your houses!

I had an old Sony phone I think it was. Got to a stage that I couldn't answer a call or the battery would die, even if fully charged to 100%. Had to let it ring out and message whoever called :D it was one of the first touch screens so I went back to a grand Nokia till the tech got a bit better

Galaxy S5 - don't use it too much during the day so normally lasts two days.
If I do use it then at night.

What Iphone is it and how old is it? I've a 4s and have to charge it in work and usually again at night and don't use it excessively. Also will say a few % battery left but when you plug it in it jumps up suddenly again to 20 or more. That or it dies with 20-30% battery left and again the second you plug it into charge apple logo appears and it starts up automatically straight away. They hardly changed settings when changing the screen, or reset to default or anything?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 820 ✭✭✭BunkMoreland

Nexus 6p, would last a month if it was just on standby.
Normal use would get 2 days.

Also with rapid charging it nearly full after 15mins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 814 ✭✭✭JerCotter7

Xperia Z2. Get 2 days out of it with heavy usage. I have wifi, bluetooth and gps turned on permanently. Also I never close apps when I finish using them so they all remain open in the background. I'll stick with Sony next time as well as I like having a good battery.

    I have a Nokia 5110.

Great phones them Nokia,s were. Bring them back I say all forgiven.
I had a lot of Nokia phones all had brilliant battery's my last one being a Nokia 6250 that I only stopped using recently as its outside rubber coating had worn away a lot and its quite bulky but still a great phone.
The phone I have now a Lumia phone is nice but the battery in it is ****. Does not even last a day and that is with it in power save mood and not being used much.
Need to get another nice little Nokia I think one with buttons.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

How do I check? It's a 5 and I have it years but recently bought a new battery. Battery was absolutely fine until I dropped it today.

At night and during the day (if needs be)

I have a HTC One m9 and the battery is **** and with constant use (chrome, facebook, spotify mostly) can last only about 4/5 hours

Those battery saving apps are a waste and do **** all.

Bought a 2.0 fast charger. It does charge the phone faster but wastes the battery faster ??

My Xiaomi Note 2 lasts all day (how depressing that I consider this impressive).

Seriously thinking of going back to the old feature phone/dumb phone soon.
Not just for battery reasons but I'm getting fed up of being online all the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,905 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

Galaxy S5...battery is brilliant. Can get the day easily with fairly heavy calling/internet/texting.

Also when you put it on charge the battery takes no time to add on 40 or 50%.

Lumia 830. Charge every 24 to 36 hrs depending on use/need.

Sony Z3 mini - 2 days. From what I've read, they've made all the newer ones worse so I'll be holding on to this one for as long as I can. Quality evolution of a product!

Let's see what HTC announce today but in truth, my interest in expensive top of the range phones is gone.

I have an iPhone 6 and once at night usually does the job. I have a portable charger and I'd highly recommend it. Don't go for a cheap one, I spent about 50 on mine and it's great.
