Going by my age and weight I've put on just over 10stone a decade. I figure that at a stone a year if I keep going and live to be 100 I could be the biggest man on earth!

Holding steady at 12 stone for the last 15 years. But it is not as well distributed as it once was.

Neither gained nor lost overall since the 80's.

At some point in my mid teens I weighed 13st. I'm not entirely sure when that was because I told myself I was 13 stone until I was 23 and forced to stand on a scales and come to terms with the fact that it was a 17.5st fat fncker and not getting any lighter.

Although I can pinpoint the start of it; broke my knee on my 11th birthday, spent 3 months eating all around me while recovering and came out of it chubbier and lazier, where I'd been pretty slender and sporty before.

In the intervening decade since I was 23, I dropped 3 stone, then another one, then another. Been hovering between 12 and 12.5 stone for the last 4 years. Been planning on losing one more, for the last two years. But this year is my year - it's not getting any easier as time moves on, so the sooner the better.

Stopped growing upwards when I was 12. Weighed about 12 and a half stone then (around 80kg). By the time I left school in 1979 I was probably around 13 and a half stone (86kg)

Over the next 3 decades or so I gradually filled out, topping out just short of 20 stone (125kg) 9 years ago

Then I started taking cycling seriously and dropped back to around 14 and a half stone (93-94kg). Then 2 years ago I had a serious accident reducing my exercise (and motivation) and I ballooned back up to 16 and a half stone (105kg) or more just over a year ago. I've been working on it since then and am now tipping the scales at just 13 and a half stone (86kg) - the weight I was at when leaving school over 36 years ago....

The first time I can remember being weighed was when I was 14 and I was 57kg. At 24 I was about 63kg and now at 30 I weigh 50kg on the head.

I was 14.5 stone when i was 20. I'm now 43 and still 14.5 stone. Admittedly some of the weight has transferred a little, but not by much, still need a belt with 34 inch jeans.

I've been slowly gaining weight since my late teens. It's all muscle but the process is so slow. After 12 years of lifting weights and consuming as many calories as I possibly can, Im finally at a decent weight.

I have been within 3lbs of the same weight for over 40 years. Not planned, just how it is.

I had a crap diet when i was younger but worked in pubs/restaurants so managed to keep weight off, always around the 10.5 mark. Went up to 12st my heaviest 5 years ago. Combination of back problems plus started a desk job plus still ate too much crap. Got into running 2 yrs ago, and sorted out my diet, apart from the chocolate addiction. Now under 10st and plan to keep it under 10. I'll never be skinny due to said chocolate addiction but am happy.

In my late teens/early 20's I was a featherweight, weighing a hefty 9st at 5'11.75" tall. I then started putting on weight in my late 20's and put on roughly 2 stone. In my 30's my weight yoyo'd from 12st to my heaviest at 14 st. I then got real dogged about it and started training (cycling and running) and my weight dropped and has held steady at 12st for the last 4 or 5 years.

Lost a bit of weight when I got to college and started being more active, I'd say I went from about ten stone to just under nine and a half. There have been one or two very skinny phases in between (down to about eight and a half stone, with my height and build it doesn't suit me at all) but I've basically been the same weight since. Definitely looking a bit flabbier and droopier with it recently though, I ain't 21 anymore. Should probably do some of that exercise...stuff

Mine varies a lot! But nothing too drastic. I'm just over 5'9". Always slim as a child. Weighed about 67kg when I hit puberty. Lost lots of weight when I was about 15 and stayed at about 60kg for most of my teen years. Was a fairly low weight for most of my early-mid twenties in college. Lowest was 53kg. Partying and stress! I weigh about 66kg now and I'm trying to get down to about 60kg. Starting a desk job and moving in with the boyfriend didn't help my figure..

What's a rough kilo to stone conversion? I haven't a clue what people mean with kilo's. This thread is the first time I've ever seen it being the norm, are people using it more these days?

I just use 6.5 kg to a stone. It's more like 6.35 but gives you a ballpark figure.

Emm was about 12 leaving school....drinking/eating too much crap etc had me just above 14 stone....

Until I gave it up by and large and exercised more and towards end of last summer fell to in and around 9 and 1/2 stone...which tbh was a bit too far.

...though I'm back around something healthy of just around 11 stone after being kinda sick/run down last few months....can finally feel myself coming right

I know in college I was pretty much 12 stone. Stayed there for a long time.

The sh*t happened, went down a dark road and weighed in at 9 st 10. I'm 6 foot...

Anyhoo, found my way again, joined a gym, realised I really enjoyed it and put some muscle on the frame and I'm back at 12 stone. Leaner and some muscle. Some 12 years after the post grad and still weigh much the same but took the scenic route to get there

    1 kg = 2.2 lbs
    1 stone = 6.35 kg
    10 stone = 63.5 kg
    80kg = 12 stone 8.4lbs

I have no idea. Only an obsessive compulsive would know. All I know is that I am heavier now than I was. I need to lose weight but I won't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,800 ✭✭✭Senna

Ive been around the 13st-13.6st for more than a decade, but since the start of 2016 i've gone up to 14st.
Not working is the killer, around the house all day with the wee girl and I do nothing but eat. Just another reason to find a job.

Erm. Went up to 22 ish stone 8 or 9 years ago.

Down to 12 and a half. up to 14.

Now at 13 and 4lbs and still losing because I got my arse in gear and decided to sort myself out. 4 ish stone to go.

No recollection of what I was in teen years, I'd imagine about 75kg or so and I played a lot of sport. Bit lazier and heavier eating in college years saw me max out just under 100kg (obese BMI). Now back to 70kg and in normal BMI land.

With the exception of two weird patches, I've been the same weight for absolute aaaaaages altogether, I nearly said 20 years there but I'm 26 so that seems unlikely.

140-150lbs, which is about average for my height (177cm), but my frame could easily carry another 10-20lbs before anyone'd notice any real weight increase but a substantial weight decrease will go by unnoticed too asides from my face looking like death.

I was about 20stone up until 2.5 years ago. Always really fooled myself that I was 6'3, ex rugby player, I'm not that fat. Got engaged and decided that rather than crash diet for a the wedding, I'd try a lifestyle change of eat less but better and more often and workout like the divil. Lost 3 stone since then and kept it off too.

I fluctuate between 105-110kg ~16.5 to 17stone and I'm fine with that. I'm fit as a fiddle, can belt out a 10k when needed, lift weights, do conditioning and cardio as the trainer sees fit. I'll head back out running properly for the next few months so I'll lose more again.

I'm in a weird place where I don't look at the scales anymore really, I just go by how clothes fit and body definition / toning. Had a bad Xmas where I noticed clothes fitting tighter so I just reverted to base and trimmed it down.

Just need to smarten the diet up a bit to see what benefits that can bring.

Grew steadily outwards through my 20's and 30's reaching a high of just over 15 stone this time last year....

Gave up booze, changed my diet and starting exercising regularly..

I'm now 11 st and happy at that...

Ten years ago I was around 78kg. I ballooned up to nearly 100kg but the past year or so I've managed to get down to 75kg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,904 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

Was 69kg as a teenager after losing a lot of weight, 73kg now so have remained more or less the same since.

I'm 183cm (6ft) and the heaviest I was was during college, around 82kg. Down around 75kg now give or take a kilo. Happy enough with that.

Didn't change much, just cut back on the sugar/chocolate and started to exercise via martial arts. Weight loss is just a happy side-effect of having fun doing jiujitsu! :)
