I rang through this morning to cancel my Eir account.

Was told I would receive an email that i needed to fill in and send back and that was the start of my 30 day cancellation policy.

I received a text with a link to track the cancellation process, and a password to log into that.

I have yet to recieve this email, and the password doesnt work.

I dont know why im actually surprised by this. Every single point of contact ive had with eir has been terrible since day 1, i suppose why should this be any different

Can you find out whats happening with this email. I am NOT calling cancellations again, i dont have 20 mins to spend on hold during the hours they are open. I have done exactly what i needed to do so will be classing tomorrow as the start of my 30 days regardless on when that email comes through.

I have Pmd my account number

    Hi wobbles,

I wasn't told any of that when I cancelled mine. I rang them and was promptly told to email phonecancellations@eir.ie. You would get an automated reply and that would be the start of your 30 day period.

Unless that has changed within the last month as I cancelled mine on the 3rd March and weirdly so (it being more than 30 days) will be completely turned off on the 7th April.

I never got a link or a password.

I wouldn't bother trying here as they will only point tell you to phone as per the norm. Same with their social media team.

    Good Luck!

    Hi  wobbles,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Is this a mobile or landline and broadband cancellation? Usually we would request 30 day written notice to our cancellations team.

I've checked my PM's and don't seem to have received one from you. Feel free to PM me and I'll check this.

    Hi jackcarlow,

Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel accounts via our social media channels. You will need to speak to our Loyalty team who you can contact via our Customer Care team on 1901.

Alternatively, you can view our cancellation processes here
