Woman told to f*ck off by Gardaí at Rising Celebrations

Woman doesn't realise that O'Connell Street is not open to the public, brings kids anyway, gets told to f*ck off by a Garda and then her 10 year old daughter allegedly says "I wanna live in England mum. This country is run by pigs who only look after the rich"

Is this a satirical piece or am I missing something?

What ten year old says something like "This country is run by pigs who only look after the rich"?

    http://bogmanscannon.com/2016/03/28/an-open-letter-to-the-government-and-people-of-ireland-by-emma-lock/

I mean, yeah - a cop shouldn't tell someone to f*ck off in front of their kids. But even with her suggestion of a viewing area for schoolkids she still wouldn't have gotten in because she just seemed to rock up and expect to get a spot.

Jesus I'm sick of these attention seeking sob stories appearing on social media everyday.

    Whinge whinge whinge.

That's a load of BS. And poor quality BS at that.

I'm annoyed at myself for reading it. Complete horse ****.

Glad it's not just me then.

    Sound.

There was something of an irony at having a cordoned off section for VIPs at the reading of a proclamation to state we're all equal. I guess some are more equal than others in Ireland.

As for the story, it's BS./

The country would be better off if she did leave to go to live in England.

She should tell her 10 year old daughter that some powerful people in England and their relationship with pigs can cause its own problems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,455 ✭✭✭maudgonner

I don't for a second believe that the 'Guarda' told her to f**k off, but I really wish they had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Yep I made the mistake of reading this earlier. Self entitled twaddle. As for the VIP areas the majority there were relatives of those directly involved in the Rising. What did this twit expect to waddle into O'Connell Street on the day of one of the biggest events in the history of the state and get a prime position

” I wanna live in England mum. This country is run by pigs who only look after the rich”

    Said by a 6yr old???

She's rearing a right little bollix there.

I Googled Emma Lock and apparently there is an actress by that name whose most notable role was in The Human Centipede II.

Now I can't claim to have seen that epic masterpiece, but I'm led to believe that it would have meant she was...full of shíte.

The garda then proceeded to wave his mickey in front of the mother while waving his cap with the other hand while singing "up the ra".

The site has a resident satirist. Nobody in their right mind would believe the story, and they have lots of staff who would presumably vet stuff.
    Satirist-in-Residence – Kevin Higgins

My guess is they want publicity for the site.

The word on the street amongst the common people of Ireland was that today’s pompous ceremony was an elitist disgrace.

I doubt that, even from the 'common people'.

Oh jebus, I did it. It's exactly what you would expect - very 'right-on', some socialist stuff, anti-war, alternative education, 'The Physics behind distant energy healing', how hair is an extension of their nervous system (and that's why native Americans kept it long).

    Basically there's a 99% chance she's an anti-vaxxer.

(But probably not a seedy movie actress, sadly)

ETA: And this epic Facebook post:
Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of ****!

Gah even though her letter was addressed to me and everyone else... I feel dumber for having read it.
    What a load of hogwash.

Lucky for her and her family that she lives in a country where you can tailgate a soldier into a restricted area and not get shot.

Her son was already able to participate on Proclamation Day.
They would have had to pass hundreds of people viewing the event on the big screens or from afar further along the parade route.
Did she think they were all just too lazy / poor to get into the GPO area?

It might stick in people's craw that there were a large number of politicians within the VIP area but I cannot see how she has made the enormous leap to this being some personal affront and discrimination against her and her family.

If I fancied a birds eye view of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations a few years back could I have casually jumped into the back of a boat and ferry along the Thames beside the Queen? Don't think so

What a terrible example to her children she was. It's entirely likely they were told to vacate the area but I'd be extremely dubious that the actual words F off were uttered

” I wanna live in England mum. This country is run by pigs who only look after the rich”

She can go to the UK and see how the poor are really treated by a country who actually looks after the rich. She can pay all for the "da water charges", council tax, expensive college education, income tax on low incomes in England.

This article can be summarised to I feel entitled to whatever I feel like I desire. Plus the generic "the government dont care about poor people " BS.

As we stood watching dignitaries arrive my ten year old daughter turned to me and said

” I wanna live in England mum. This country is run by pigs who only look after the rich”

” I thought Guarda were nice helpful people mummy” my son added.

This is absolute bullshit. Who makes this stuff up and what is their motive?
