Good Catholics, bad Catholics, and inbetweeny Catholics. Will you be adhering to the rules of the Church today? Or is there a plate of steak waiting for you when you go home?

Smoked salmon, when it comes to eating fish I tend to get very devout.

I don't eat animal flesh any day, because I am that much of a devoted Catholic.

Bacon, egg, sausage and beans and a few spuds.
Followed by a nice bit of cheddar cheese.
    Cheeses of Nazareth.

I'm sitting down to a sandwich composed of luscious lettuce, crisp cherry tomatoes, a coating of coleslaw, Atlantic tuna, lightly salted and mixed in a tomato pesto and sliced spring onions all tucked between four grain brown bread with a crunchy crust. Oh, and a cup of Barry's gold blend tea.

Of course, for lunch I had beef and black bean sauce with noodles... And believe me, if bacon was an option instead of tuna, that is what would be in this sandwich.

Haven't decided yet. In case it may be an option, what's the best way to cook a Catholic?

    On a spit.

About 3 hours turning occasionally should have him nice and crispy.

    Enjoy your meal.

Hmm, Let me think. Let me talk to you about my defiance of cultural norms and the inclusion of meat based products in todays meals to give an aura of atheistic superciliousness. Total badassery

    Fish pie.

Filled with salmon, hake, naturally smoked haddock and prawns, topped with mash. So yummy and leftovers for tomorrow's dinner too!

Love a bit of fish pie meself, mix some garden peas in with the fish and sauce for the ultimate tastiness.

I'm not long in from a birthday party where there was lots of cake devoured.

Dinner can wait a while yet, but will prob consist of a nice bit of fish with chips of salad.

T-Bone steak for the hubby and a fillet steak for me with chips, fried onions and pepper sauce, wash it down with a few whiskeys later and watch Monty Pythons Life of Brian, it's our good Friday tradition

I was thinking a few peas would have been nice but alas the freezer was bare. There was leek and onion in the sauce and we had broccoli on the side.

Chicken chili stir fry although you'd almost be tempted to abstain from meat today from pure reactionary annoyance about all your professional atheist mates.

Big fry for breakfast and just after ordering a Chinese takeaway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,417 ✭✭✭ToddyDoody

Lasagne with added dolmio sauce, served with rice, and a salad of red pepper, onion, olives and green giant brand sweetcorn.

To drink, mi wadi orange and Summer fruits in a pint glass.

Desert may consist of a chocolate biscuit. (Foxes brand)

Tradition is great but, couldn't be arsed :)

Jesus Christ. I thought I was fond of carbs but yourself and ToddyDoody really take it to extremes!

Pork chops with pasta and spinach. Made a tomato sauce myself. Now I'm finishing off a champagne I had from yesterday. Yum yum.

Ye're all heathens I tells ya.

    Heathens.

We had baked monkfish in a creamy sauce, with the usual trimmings of spuds and veg.

Then to break tradition we had a lovely crisp white Corbieres between us and polished off the bottle!

In a little while we will have a couple of nice warmed Hennessy brandies. Lovely.

I did a bit of tradition, and a bit of rebellion. Apt that for the weekend that's in it!
