    2. Sent a parcel via a well know courier company and the dimensions were out by a couple of cm's and they charge me £94 extra... it was in their terms and conditions

    3. Booked a hotel in the UK, paid for it up front online, didnt make it over and the double charged me for the room as I didnt cancel it, again in the terms and conditions..

I didn't submit gas meter readings myself and was always out when the reader came round for 4 years. Result: a 500 bill when an actual reading was done.

I remember losing 6 quid in a pyramid scheme when I was 14, great lesson learned.

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

That hotel one is mental. If you've already paid for the room, what bleedin' difference does it make to them if you're in it or not?

Surprised no one mentioned water bills yet...

Could make a case to say that if everyone did this and a hotel rostered staff on in accordance, only for the Hotel to actually only be 60% full, meaning more staff working than necessary.

By make a case, I mean very very lightly.

But there's no need to double pay. I doubt that he needed to. Unless he forgot two days.

What? He's double paying because he paid for the room. The hotel expected him to be there so therefore would have ensured his room was in order, ensured enough staff were working etc. He never showed up making those staff redundant, hence the extra charge for "inconvenience".

Of course you can argue the original cost of the room should cover the staff costings etc, but assuming this would be the hotels response if asked. It's nonsense like, but if it was in the T&C's, and he forgot to cancel, it's completely his fault.

Did it not originate from organised crime gangs' ownership of laundromats?
