3rd time in as many years we've met PSG, theyve gone through once and we've gone through once, time to complete the trilogy.

Chelsea have it all to do and Terry is 100% but Kenedy, Pedro and Costa should be back, Matic is also available after being suspended for the 1st leg but he'll more than likely be benched. We've kept 1 clean sheet at home under Guus and that was against Scunthorpe, PSG pose a tiny bit more of a threat IMO.

PSG have the upper hand after the 1st leg in Paris, they've got late fitness tests on Verratti and Matudia with the Italian pretty doubtful for the game, no problem, just swap him out for Pastore or more than likely Rabiot, Marquinhos could go CB and Luiz into CM too so theyre not short of options.

    Teams likely to be

    Courtois
    Azp Ivan Cahill Rahman
    Mikel Cesc
    Willian Oscar Hazard
    Costa

    vs

    Trapp
    Marquinhos Luiz Silva Maxwell
    Matudi Verratti Thiago
    Di Maria Ibra Moura

I cant see Chelsea keeping a clean sheet tonight, we cant buy one at the moment so 1-1 on the night and lose on aggregate. :o

Wouldn't be surprised to see mikel and matic both start

Me neither but I would be annoyed. Its a bad state of affairs when Mikel is the nailed on starter of the two, shows how much Matic has regressed.

Fabregas has to start. He was good in the away leg as well. Cesc craves these big nights where he can showcase his ability to the world.

Looking forward to this one :p

should be a nervy one, but Chelsea are well overdue some magic this season

Chelsea more than held their own against them in Paris. The potential loss of Veratti could be huge. Yeah they have quality to replace him but he's not really replaceable imo. Different team when he plays.

I think Chelsea can do it. Hate to say but if they had Cech I'd be more confident.

I would be surprised if it is not that team indeed Gav, best we have at the minute I guess. Outside chance of Pedro instead of Oscar but I cant see Uncle Guus being that adventurous not to start at least we really cannot concede early.

I cant remember where I said it but these kind of nights were made for Ramires.

He usually performed well in the big European nights and I'd be more confident if we had hi next to Mikel and Cesc slightly further forward.

It'll be interesting to see how PSG approach it, if they leave in 2 goals they'll still only need 1 goal so they shouldnt panic or be over awed by the occasion.

PSG will capsize under the weight of the Bridge.
    Hon the Blues!

Team to play PSG: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic (c), Kenedy; Mikel, Fabregas; Pedro, Willian, Hazard; Diego Costa

Sbs : Begovic, Baba Rahman, Matic, Loftus-Cheek, Oscar, Traore, Remy

Thats a very open team from us, Kenedy at LB is a huge risk, equally, Pedro on the right is a risk.

    PSG :
    Trapp,
Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell,
    Thiago Motta, Rabiot, Matuidi,
    Di Maria, Moura, Ibrahimovic.

Interested to see Rabiot after all the hype. Might be a bridge too far for him tonight.

How have you never seen Rabiot before?

2-1 Chelsea in normal time. PSG to grab a goal in ET too dump Chelsea out. 4-3 PSG after ET. Di Maria seeing red would also be a lovely sight too see.

Strongly fancy the Chels tonight, hopefully Willian to play out of his skin and do enough in the 90 minutes to progress

Costa hasn't delivered for Chelsea according to Dunphy.

According to Wikipedia he scored 20 goals in 26 league appearances last year.....Dunphy has some neck calling him a fraud.

Not in a high level game. At least I don't think so. If I did, he didn't stand out.

Is he quite an elegant footballer? How would you describe him?

I think it'll be a score draw. With the silly goals this defence have been giving up, I don't fancy them to keep PSG out. 1-1

    George getting his facts wrong.

Winning the league and scoring that amount in his first season is only ever not delivering when you apply dunphy logic. It's blatantly obvious he doesn't watch much football any more and is just waffling his way through matches the past few years.

Why is George Hamilton spouting random off topic nonsense?

So far we've had Hamilton say Ibrahimovic when referring to Ivanovic, and Beglin say Abramovich instead of Ibrahimovic. Michael Owen is the alternative on BT. Christ.

    I love Ibra

Great desire by Rabiot, state of the defending.

It's been coming, to be fair. By far the better side so far. But at least Chelsea have plenty of time to rectify the situation.

    Jesus that's shocking from Cahill.

Cahill showing why england are always so bad defensively

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,155 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Cahill was caught between two positions, inexperience shown from Kennedy(?) at LB.
