    Hey, hey

With the country in a state of political paralysis, the LLS turns its lonely eyes to Jackie Healy Rae TD Danny Healy Rae TD and his Brother Michael Healy Rae TD. Kerry is a lovely place, but they are taking the piss putting these two into the Dáil. When the first one of these people was in an RTE Reality Show a few years ago, he received 3,636 votes from a single phone in the Oireachtas. He denied making the calls
    650073.jpg?itok=4XHyG5WX

LLS Regular, three times Golfy Major Winner and proper nice guy Padraig Harrington is on the show. Again. No particular reason, but he had Tubs around his house this week so there will probably be a hilarious film about that.

If you are still reading, well done. Actors Laurence Kinlan and the lovely Aoibhín Garrihy plug their Ross O'Carroll Kelly Stage Show and talk about acting and stuff

"Property guru Jasmine Harman - presenter of A Place in the Sun - Home and Away will open up about her mother's battle with a "hoarding disorder" and Jasmine's documentary My Hoarder Mum and Me." It looks lie they are running out of illnesses.

Also, "gay couple John McMahon and Gerard Whelan had triplets through surrogacy nearly fifteen years ago and brought them home from California to Dublin. They share their story for the first time with the Late Late Show audience."

Bray band Wyvern Lingo perform a song from their new EP.

So there you are. Sure at least the evenings are getting longer. Alternatively, if you can't get enough Richard Gere after last week, An Officer and A Gentleman is on Channel 4 on Sunday at 11.40pm Love lift us up where we beloooong, where the Eaaaagles fly, on a mountain hiiiigh ...

I posted a comment here asking if Ryan will ask the Healy-Rae's if they still think it's OK to drink and drive. It hasn't appeared (yet). Can't imagine why....

Healy Raes should be gold, I hope they are on first and start moaning about all the smart alecs in the media above in Dublin :D. My one hope for this year in the televisual world is that "At Home With The Healy Raes" gets a 2nd series, it was great craic altogether...http://www.tv3.ie/ireland_am_video.php?video=72352

The bald guy who doesn't wear a cap says very little compared to Michael. The smartass entitlement mentality of the Healy-Rae family really turns me off.

Just in case anyone is in any doubt why these guys are in politics.... the late father of those two, Jackie H-R secured a package of goodies from Bertie as the price of his support for the last FF government. One of these was a nomination to the board of a public body. This was eventually cashed in by Jackie asking that his son Michael (then a Kerry co. councillor) be nominated to the board of the Citizens' Information Board, Bertie duly delivered.

When Michael was elected to the last Dail in 2011, Joan Burton who was the minister with responsibility for the CIB, pointed out to him that he was now a member of the body (Dail Eireann) to which the board was accountable and he couldn't serve on both bodies. The clear implication was that he should voluntarily step down from the board of the CIB. He flat out refused and had to be fired by order of the minister. You can make up your own mind as to his motives for wanting to hold on to the position.

    .

He's got more brains than most of us here, he's also a hell of a lot wealthier than pretty much anyone else on boards.ie

I have no idea why RTE pander to these two. Their oul fella sold the country down the drain along with Lowry and a few other independents. They introduced policies that drove thousands of kids of their own constituents into emigration and they top the poll every fcuking time.

Tubridy will sit there grinning like an inane idiot thinking he's the smart city slicker taking the p!ss out of a pair of country simpletons.

In actual fact it's publicity and ammunition for the next stage of the Healy-Rae business. They wouldn't be seen dead on the LLS if there wasn't something in it for them.

(I posted the above in a different thread btw)

The oul fella claiming travel exppenses to the Dail while travelling up on the train using his OAP pass was another one.

Didn't know that story, thanks for posting it.Makes me despise these two even more . That's the thing people don't get; most people don't like them because of things like you have just described, nothing to do with their accents or where they are from.

Sounds like fun, even if I don't know half of who's on!....

The Healy-Rae's will be predictable enough, I have to say I was a bit creeped out by them all posing in front of the Dad's open coffin....Should that not be a private time?

Not my type of photo at all......***shudders***

    Great OP Skid.

Heh, I like this kinda guest list. Stirs up the thread a bit, i'm expecting the laughters.

And I look forward to myself posting about my admiration for Padraig, even if he is a bit boring, for at least the 15th time.

Healy Rae's are more like a cult than anything else so that picture is not that surprising.

Meanwhile, you don't hear much from my favourite Healy Rae - Healy Rae Jepsen - since that immortal feelgood teenybopper anthem she had a few years ago.

Although, interestingly, the more in-the-news Healy Raes are still very much sticking to the family mantra "Call me maybe".
