This is seriously f^%ked up, so if you are of a sensitive disposition, click out of this thread...

    .

Details are thin on the ground at the moment but its being reported a woman wearing a Burkha who was baby sitting a four year old girl in Moscow has murdered her. She then beheaded the child, set fire to the apartment and then wandered around the streets of Moscow for about an hour carrying the head. Police have arrested her outside a Metro station. More on the story here.

If my summary has upset you, don't go clicking any further. As I said, it is f^%ked up.

Never said it was funny. It's tragic, you're right. RIP to the child. This type of weird **** happens in Russia all the time. Some of it tragic like this story, some of it just weird.

Did the family of the child not have any kind of filtering process when hiring a nanny? Surely they would have seen some sort of strangeness in the woman?

Did you read the link I posted? She was wearing a Burkha, told police she was a terrorist and threatened to blow herself up. That sort of thing doesnt happen in Russia "all the time".

No confirmation its ISIS yet, though I have to admit it sounds like their MO.

Its so unfathomable, I don't really know what to say.

Sounds like they've taken a leaf out of the American's book of Freedom then. Although Daesh wouldn't agree, hence the reason they're desperately trying to relocate to Libya.

Anyway, RIP to the poor victim.

I don't see the problem, especially as the report goes onto say that the childs sex is still unknown, and very young children are often refered to as 'it' - even our first mention is 'It's a girl / boy'.

'It' is the third person 'neuter'.

Back on topic - sounds like the woman needs help.

Supposedly she went mental and went on hard drugs because she had just found out that her partner was cheating on her.

Read about it on the BBC, sickening stuff :( There it said she threatened to blow herself though later she was found without explosives, so sounds like she has serious mental delusions

Personally I have always used third person plural for babies before the sex is known, when one of my german friends referred to her baby as 'it' (while speaking english, in german it's correct gramatically) I found it uncomfortable

So disgusting and upsetting! That family will be traumatized for life. The murder is awful enough but to burn the body/apartment and then parade around with a body part? Has to be some evil in that woman, not just mentally ill.

No, but strange, horrible and violent things do tend to - it has the highest murder rate in all of Europe, and in Asia is only behind Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan and Myanmar.

Killing a child, cutting off their head and then parading it about is not something that a sane person would do, regardless of the reason. I don't consider any violent murderous type sane.

I clicked into this thread after hearing a snippet on the news.
Didn't watch the video and nor will I, the blurred photos and description were enough to get my eyes sore.
I write this now as my 9 month old daughter sleeps next to me and I cant help but wonder "what if?".
That poor poor girl to suffer such an awful and disrespectful death.
A girl not even in her prime. A girl that will never have her first kiss, her first job, her first child, grandchild. A father that will never walk his baby girl down the aisle or hear her voice ever again.
A mother who carried her in her womb for almost a fourth of that girls life. Its unbearable to think about it what those poor souls must be going through.
That sick bitch, the motto eye for an eye fits well here.
Rip little angel, you are rid of this disgusting world.

I'd disagree, think of that man who killed his housemate in Castleknock and ate part of his lung.

While not quite as horrific, he had severe mental issues which caused him to behave as he did, and so he did not have control over his actions.

Should this woman have the same kind of affliction that should be treated differently than her being an extremist.

However in a country like Russia, I suspect that will count for little.

People develop dissociative identity disorder, as it's known now, after going through severe trauma. I don't think they are more likely to commit murder.

I read that she did this after finding out her husband cheated on her. Could be some kind of breakdown or she could just be an evil person who wanted to make another family suffer.

Absolutely horrific for the poor child and the family.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Well, true - I was thinking more in legal terms in the sense that people do get off on the insanity defense for absolutely horrific crimes. Basically that people can do things like that as a result of 'insanity' (the specific type of which can of course vary).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

Clearly she's insane. Nobody in their right mind would even think of doing something as absolute evil as what she done. She's an absolute monster though. Illness or no illness. There's millions of people with mental illness that don't chop heads off little girls. I hope in her case it's like for like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭jelenka

I don't care if she is unwell mentally - she is claiming that she did it because of her husbands infidelity, why she chose to leave him alive, his new woman alive and most importantly herself alive? Why did she choose to kill an innocent child and to do so in such a horrible, monstrous way?
That poor girl had physical disabilities and it breaks my heart that she died in such a horrific way because of a monster that should have killed herself instead.
I guess there is difference for me -if someone has mental illness and is suicidal I would encourage them to seek help, but if people are suffering mental health problems and take away their lives along with other people's lives, or like in this case simply take someone else's live - hope they rot in hell.

She's also claiming the voices told her to do it. That suggests severe mental illness to me.

on what basis would these illnesses justify this behavioour? You could have 20 personalities, one of them is obviously a murdering bastard.

Schizophrenia again wouldnt justify it, theres millions with schizophrenia that arent killing children every single day.

I think you're confusing "justifying" with explaining.

There's no one on here justifying what she did. Everyone thinks it's horrible.
