Investing €100 on protein, advice?

I'm deciding where to buy my whey as i usually buy my protein from discountsupplements.co.uk and buy 'Optimum nutrition gold standard 100% whey protein ' but i think its too pricey...

    Bulkpowders have this on offer:
HYDROLYSED WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE 5kg for €101.49 (166 servings)
which sounds amazing! but i'm worried about is the other key ingredients like BCAAS, GLUTAMINE & PRECURSORS which it doesn't mention which means it doesn't have them?

I'm just a bit apprehensive about it as ive never bought these low cost protein brands, even though the above product offers 26g protein per serving!

As for myprotein i had a look but they were a little bit more expensive and also offered slightly less protein which made me not look around their website for alternatives...

    Would appreciate all replies!

Isolate is a waste of money unless you are lactose intolerant. Just get this:
    http://www.bulkpowders.ie/pure-whey-protein.html

You're paying through the nose for an ever so slightly higher protein percentage, it achieves nothing.

Anything making fancy claims is just trying to fleece you. Marketing departments try desperately hard to convince you that whey isn't just the simple dairy product that it is.

Whey intrinsically contains BCAAs and Glutamine so any whey product will have some.

I find whey concentrate tastes nicer and mixes nicer than isolate as well to be honest.

Bulkpowders is my favourite of the 'bulk' suppliers due to customer service, speed of delivery and other factors, but any of the main 4 or 5 all have high quality products so you don't need to be concerned in that respect.

Just randomly reading here and the price difference between the brand linked and O/N is massive, is this pure label pricing or is the quality a bit better

With O/N you're paying for the brand. Myprotein is a brand also but think louis vuitton vs. ralph lauren, they're both widely regarded as having good quality but one is more expensive.

Cool my brother just gave me a 5kg bag of unflavoured cause he couldnt drink it, i tried it and while taste not even close to great i could swallow it, i just wasnt sure of standard. Good to hear its decent, can go and get some protein bars and maybe casein now instead

You can also get flavouring drops.

Just don't tell your brother ;)

Hi just wondering is there a medical reason for getting your protein requirements form a supplement , what are the advantages and disadvantages to getting a supplement as against getting your protein requirements from whole unprocessed food, and if you take more protein than you need what happens to it.

    Easier, cheaper and more convenient.

From food is obviously better but from whey is fine.
