    Manchester United

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is a doubt for Sunday's Barclays Premier League home clash with Arsenal, in which goalkeeper David de Gea is expected to make his return to action.

Martial (hamstring) was injured in the warm-up to Thursday's Europa League last 32 second leg clash with Midtjylland - a week on from the same thing happening to De Gea (knee) ahead of the first leg.

It remains to be seen whether two other recent addition to United's lengthy injury list, defenders Chris Smalling (shoulder) and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (unspecified), are able to make their comebacks, while the likes of Antonio Valencia (foot) and Adnan Januzaj (hamstring) are nearing readiness.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Blind, Smalling, McNair, Rojo, Varela, Riley, Love, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Carrick, Lingard, Depay, A Pereira, Mata, Martial, Rashford.

    Arsenal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out of Arsenal's Barclays Premier League clash at Manchester United with a knee problem.

The England winger picked up the injury in the Champions League defeat to Barcelona and will miss Sunday's trip to Old Trafford with boss Arsene Wenger uncertain of when he will be back.

Defender Gabriel will undergo a fitness test ahead of the game as he looks to return from a hamstring problem, while Jack Wilshere (leg), Santi Cazorla (knee) and Tomas Rosicky (thigh) are all still missing.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Monreal, Gibbs, Koscielny, Gabriel, Mertesacker, Bellerin, Chambers, Ramsey, Elneny, Coquelin, Flamini, Ozil, Reine-Adelaide, Iwobi, Sanchez, Campbell, Walcott, Welbeck, Giroud.

One hell of an impressive injury list, Arsenal to win easing down by 2 or 3 goals.

Hope United win, but hard see it with injuries.

    Arsenal by a goal 1-2

If Arsenal can't win against this depleted United side, they can forget about the league.

If they don't give away stupid penalties or red cards, then they should have the quality to win.

Not particularly confident, were rubbish against stoke, Liverpool, Southampton and chelsea pretty recently so are very capable of being rubbish again today.

That united team is well capable of beating Arsenal at Old Trafford.

I see a draw or United win the siege mentality will drive United on

We've bottled it here against worse United teams than this one. Anything other than a defeat will be a nice surprise.

    1-0 to the home team.

Arsenal all the way. Could be a tanking too. Once it stays under 6-0 we won't have too much to complain about.
Still hoping for a miracle though.

    Glazers Out!

With the way we've been playing lately I'd be surprised if we score so I wouldn't worry about that haha

    1-1

United to surprise a lot of people today.

Arsenal need a huge game today after being effectively kicked out of Europe. Bad result today will see them collapse over the rest of the season.

    Prepare to get Rashford'ed, Arsenal.

    Arsenal by a couple.
If Utd heads drop they could get tanked.

LOL at the reverse psychology. This will be a close game. As the home side and considering their record at OT in this fixture United are favourites.

Arsenal could run riot easily or they could make United look a lot better than they are

    Depends what Arsenal show up

It usually is and I can't speak for the other lads but, I'm being honest in my prediction this time.

Utd will be starting without a CB in the team most likely and two kids at fullback with an 18 year old up front. Throw the manager into the mix too and it's Arsenals for the taking. Thought you were a little unlucky midweek against Barca and are a few levels above what Utd will field today.

Giroud dropped to bench. Also great to see Flamini out of the squad.

Carrick and Blind at CB, prefer for a handy Arsenal Win :(

United: De Gea, Varela, Carrick, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Lingard, Mata, Memphis, Rashford. Subs: Romero, McNair, Riley, Fosu-Mensah, Weir, Januzaj, Pereira.

If Arsenal can't come too OT and win comfortably today,it'll say a lot about the team and a hell of a lot about the club.

    1-4 Arsenal.

Giroud we'll have a field day when he comes on against them both. It's going too be a long afternoon.

Ya we getting killed today arsenal by 4..... you can get over 2.5 at 11/10

Utd back line will be well dodgy today. DDG will need to have a stormer to avoid conceding. Nice touch form Wenger starting Welbeck up front. He could cause Blind and Carrick a huge amount of problems with his pace and work rate.

Rashford up front is a big big risk but LVG doesn't have many other options. This is the type of game that could easily swallow up such a young lad. If he has a big game today the British press will be gushing as they love to do about local boys.

Can't wait to see how this game pans out, but as Utd fan Im very nervous.

Some subs bench from us, easy Arsenal win here

    Delighted with that Arsenal lineup.

It's not likely but I would absolutely love us to put one over on Arsenal today.

I still think United could surprise and get the win, though rooney was the one I expected to do the most damage when looking at this fixture a few weeks ago. Arsenal are still not the team they should be with the league nearly in sight. But you never know.
Personally I hope both teams implode today, somehow

I fear for us today after seeing the line up and bench.
Arsenals pace should cause our back four awful problems.

    Arsenal to win 3-0 :(

Probably one of those rare games when everybody on boards will be cheering for an arsenal win...Even the United fans.

Watching Blind attempting to stop Sanchez is going to be fun, let alone Ozil and Walcott v Carrick.

Ozil and Sanchez have a bit of trouble playing their best stuff together.

I'm oddly confident which probably means a hiding is on the cards from Arsenal though.

Blind taking Corners with Carrick in the box Arsenal will prob score 2 goals off our corners actually might back em for next goalscorer from our corners.. We are so open to counters from them this season.

Sanchez and Giroud don't seem to play well together. Perhaps Sanchez will finally find his form now Olly isn't on the pitch.

    Happy to see Giroud dropped.

    Such nonsense

    That's a strong Arsenal lineup.

Utd's makeshift defence is the biggest issue. Not a hope of keeping a clean sheet.

Arsenal are favorites but that might be a blessing in disguise.

I'd love to see Rashford & Depay follow up on there midweek performances but a big ask against this level of opposition.

May the best team win lads!

Danny Wellbeck to score a double hat trick to reaffirm his place at the top of the English striker list.

Should be an Arsenal win but if anyone can Arsenal it up it's Arsenal.

Yes because they have fielded a much stronger line-up.

No wonder we think Arsenal are going to win, we have a massive amount of injuries, issues in the back-line and having to field inexperience.

    It's kind of understandable.

Just wondering about the United line up. Is there only one "Fergie survivor" left in that - De Gea?

Has a united team been named without any Alex Ferguson players since he left?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Should be an Arsenal win but if anyone can Arsenal it up it's Arsenal.

The only team better at Arsenaling it up are Spurs.

But in reality, can't see anything other than an Arsenal win. Only team we have played this season where I felt we got pummelled in the first match.
