The best value protein is from either MyProtein or Bulkpowders. They are 2 online stores and unavailable to buy in a shop

Are they all that necessary for most people? Would you need more than say 100g per day if you're not a bodybuilder...even trying to lose weight?

    They're not necessary. They're a supplement.

So if you're after a handy way of supplementing your protein intake, you could supplement it with a whey protein shake.

Targets differ per person based on their mass.

Depends on weight (target weight if dieting) and sport/ exercise level I guess. I do mainly running and cycling, and the recommended is 0.7g per lb of bodyweight for "endurance" sports.

Most days I'd need one supplement a day to hit that - normally have a scoop of whey in my overnight oats or porridge. This must be way under what most people use, given when I start getting the "do you need to order more" emails from whoever I last ordered from!

Not sure on the quality/ protein level, but I got some of the H&B stuff when I was away last summer - tasted gick, and didn't mix great.

Myprotein and Bulkpowders are the best value, which ever one has the best offer on at the time.

wonder how much ON paid them for that ad masquerading as an article.
