So after last night it's official the main event will be Reigns vs HHH. There's no way that this is gonna go any other way than Reigns going over, there's nothing to save it this year like Rollins cash in last year or the Yes moment from the year before.

By the end of Raw tonight we should have a better idea of the rest of the card which will probably see Brock vs Dean added.

6 man tag against Usos and Rock?

Probably the League of Nations. The Usos will probably have the Dudleys.

Yeah hopefully, it's a small possibility because Rock can't risk an injury due to his movie obligations and they can protect the hell out of him in a 6 man tag, Usos take the beating, then he comes in and does his finishing combo, takes no bumps, and it's a great Wrestlemania moment. Sounds great to me.

I wonder could Ambrose standing up to, actually getting Brock in trouble and eventually losing to Brock work for him. Maybe Brock could simply pat him on the back completely out of character to give him respect.

Normally those moments don't work but since fans like both guys it could work.

I don't think Brick should lose to anyone for a while. So something out of the ordinary to put Ambrose over as a threat would be great.

In all seriousness what happens when the crowd(100,000ish so least 50k smart fans) shît all over Reigns/HHH. Its gonna happen its inevitable and proper order they react badly.

Even if Vince just ignores the fans post mania, wwe is a plc now surely the board put pressure on him to keep fans happy rather than shoving someone down our throats?

The board is Vince backed up by HHH and Steph. The rest just oversee commitees as far as I can tell.

Anyway, its just one small part of the company. Unless the turnover goes south they won't stop a small part of their storyline. They proved with Cena for years that they don't care about people booing. Proved they really don't care when they had Cena v Rock 2 with an obvious finish that hardcore fans hated.

While all this is going on they are signing guys like Styles an Nak to provide something that will largely keep our type of fan interested.

To be fair, they knew Cena vs Rock was going to be a massive seller regardless. Bigger than anything else they could have had this year. I don't subscribe to the idea that the same (or even close to it) applies to Reigns vs HHH. Disliked superstar vs disliked superstar does not make a Wrestlemania main event make.

They're going to go all out and add the Rock and Shawn Michaels into this to at least bring SOMEBODY into the equation that the fans do like, but it is not going to work. This main event is getting shat on from here until the time it finishes, and the WWE deserve all they get here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

The only way the fans can make them take notice is to walk out before the "main event". Show them that Ambrose vs. Lesnar is what the fans perceive to be the biggest match on the card, assuming it happens directly before it.

Now we know for a fact this will never happen because as dull as Reigns vs. Triple H is shaping up to be, even the smartest of fans will stay and watch and then bitch and moan about it the following day, despite getting exactly what they expected. People need to start voting with their wallets because that is literally the only way WWE will notice. As long as we keep supporting this company by paying for the Network, going to house shows and spending thousands to travel over to Mania even once, they can do whatever they want.

Having said all that, I will still be glued to every minute of Wrestlemania like the hypocrite I am.

    Lol this is priceless.
Considering how many fans buy merchandise, tickets, watch the show & have the network I doubt "the board" give two fücks who main events considering the significant profits wwe remaining keep making.

Glad I made u laugh :) but I meant like martyos said directly above your post. People vote with there feet and talk with there wallet. Network cancellations and poorer attended shows. It is a big ask though I know for people to stay away.

The more i think about it, I'll be amazed if Shane o mac faces Taker, somewhere along the road to wrestlemania, i think he'll meet a road block that will require the help of a certain man of steel, i just hope if Taker is to play the heel, he goes back to the biker gimmick.

They'd never be able to get Taker over as a heel at this stage in his career, especially at Wrestlemania, in Texas, in HITC.

What if Taker decieds not to side with vince goes with shane then cena turns heel and sides with vince.

That would be just amazing imo.

They did the graphic for the match though didn't they?
That's what makes a match official in WWE land.

Meh match graphics swap out all the time. There has to be a twist in the tale to this match in the next 6 weeks. I just don't see it working as it is.

I'd say Taker's urn will come into play here and he has to do Vince's bidding. Cena won't be turning until Roman is fully established as "the man", so....never.

I know, what i meant was, if he sides or has to side with Vince, against Shane or Cena, it looks like he'll be on the heel side of things.

taker went from CM Punk to Lesner to Bray Wyatt to a non wrestler Shane Mcmahon. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Cena/Sting/Kevin Owens would of been perfect. heres hoping theres going to be a twist in the tale

Still would not be surprised if Shane is a place holder and it ends up Taker representing Shane vs Cena representing Vince.

Meanwhile I also would not be shocked to see a big multi tag team match at mania especially with LONs getting involved with the New Day, Y2AJ becoming a thing and The Golden Truth forming over the past several weeks.

Dudleys vs The Usos could be on the undercard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,882 ✭✭✭✭Rock Lesnar

I presume a special guest referee will be added or somebody to help Shane in the build up to the match, if its what they push ahead with it, who better to help him in a feud with Vince then Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Yes i want to see him at Mania, everything else is pants apart from Lesnar v Ambrose, and if he's there, it at least gives me a reason to pay the €12.99 for the network.

Isn't The Rock already confirmed for WM, is that to "help get Reigns over", end WM with The Rock raising new champ Reigns hand

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Shane back is a major shock, if for some reason he doesn't wrestle now it would be disappointing.

The main event gets stranger when it has to follow a no holds barred/street fight and a hell in a cell match. Are they trying to burn the crowd out so they won't be bothered ****ting on it or getting behind HHH?

Surely they will add something /somebody to the taker match?? Great pop for Shane O Mac, but big let down when Vince announced the match

If, on the day of Mania, we still have the match as currently announced, it will be heavily gimmicked, with a tonne of run ins, ala HHH vs Sting. I'd be expecting The Authority, The League of Nations, some faces who want rid of HHH and Steph (Reigns, Ambrose, Ziggler, et al), possibly The Rock, possibly Cena, and (my outside pick for an appearance)
    The Mean Street Posse!

Snickers Shane McMahon was playing it as a big fat meh as well. Unless he forgot to react.

Could always replace the streak by making every Undertaker match have a retirement stipulation like Flair had or something.

Vince was heartbroken that Cena was hurt and we will have no Cena vs taker match at mania so he decides to have his son who is a non wrestler fight the biggest mania draw (the undertaker) I'd even take strowman vs taker as it's more credible

Ah come on, be honest with yourself, you would not want to see Taker vs. the greenest guy on the main roster at the biggest version of the biggest show of the year, it'd be a farce.

Owens would've been my number one preference (gotta get those election jokes in) but Shane ain't so bad. At least build-up wise, there's so much of this story left to unravel.

Any chance of Taker and Shane tagging?

Taker refuses to fight on behalf of the authority, so Shane has to face the LON and it somehow results in Taker and Shane tagging.

I'd take that. Shane, taker and mystery partner (sting) vs lon.

Am I the only one that doesnt see a problem in finding reason for Taker to fight for Vince and Steph? Whenever Vince has had a fight that he just has to win he has turned to Undertaker. Vince wanted Austin gone, he gets Taker. Shane McMahon led wCw invasion, Vince gets Taker. JR disrespected Vince, Taker kicks his a$$. Yes there have been plenty of times he opposed Vince but they can be easily ignored.

Also lets not forget Taker and HHH are bezzy mates since WrestleMania 28. Hell, Taker has even been trying to take out Lesnar for the past year who has been a torn in the Authoritys side (ignoring the fact that they gave him a title match vs Rollins). Like its a story that could easily be told. Taker respects Vince and Steph for staying with WWE and has never liked Shane etc....

    True statement man

I can't wait for raw next week. I don't want the match being Shane vs taker but will accept it if wwe can convince me. Lot of what ifs that will haunt me ( if Rollins, sting, Cena were not injured, if Shane didn't accept match etc )

Better than I could've ever put it. Taker has been as much of a company man as anyone in reality, so they may as well take advantage of that, especially with how Shane has turned his back on the company, in kayfabe terms.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,123 ✭✭✭Rock77

The problem is Taker would be the heel and no way he's getting booed, considering where it is. So the crowd will cheer that the authority will stay in power??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,469 ✭✭✭LeeJM

If a heel is a true heel he will get booed no matter the audience!! All this crap of its his home town, its a smark town etc. make somebody a proper heel and they will be booed.

The WWE would not be capable of making taker a heel at this stage in his career, at wrestlemania, in his hometown.

I disagree. I just think they arent willing to try. I dont understand the whole cant be a heel at this stage of his career. Actually I understand it but its pure lazy. By that reasoning Hogan could never have been a heel in '96. Hell Taker was being booed in Aug/Sept/Oct when he was low blowing Lesnar.

All Taker has to say "It's best for business." and he'll get booed.

I don't think that changes much in terms of that it seems certain that was the original plan all along, and all that is left to see is if they actually go with it. Beginning to think they won't but sure what do I know.

But either way he's winning the belt at Mania. Let them do their fools errand and push the guy. I'm beyond caring and simply don't watch Reigns anymore.
