Anyone have/had one of these sturdy grande creep feeders. Are they any good? Or are they a waste of money. Would ewes turn them over trying to get into them.

    Thanks

These are better value IMO, price them with cormacs in tuam

We have cormac ones. Sheep love rubbing off them and if there near empty you always find them turned over around the field

Ive the cormac green mushroom one as well. Find it good and does work well with the lambs. Only downside is fe*k*n crows will drive you mad when they realise it's there.

Have some of them here too. We have to anchor them so the ewes scratching off them won't move them all round the houses

We have one of these yokes

    http://www.foxbros.ie/equipment/sheep-equipment/lamb-creep-feeder/116-lamb-creep-feeder-pntd-8-x5.html

Don't use it anymore as don't lamb early.

It's all right on a bad day, a few lambs can go in for shelter. Bit tis a big awkward lump. And the feed can get wet inside it a bit too...
Wouldn't recommend one to be honest...

Have the same myself john and it's stuck in the corner of the field the last few years. Keep meaning to put it up on done deal. Only used it when I had early lambs.

    Looks a good job....

Be a small bit worried the ewes would strain it tearing an scratching at the corners, but that mightn't be an issue, hard to tell from a photo... It does look a good idea tho...

    Best o luck with it...

Long way away from west cork, why you say people would want to get rid of them?

Yea, the last few years farmers were selling the lambs as stores, the store trade was so good they didn't need to be feeding the lambs if they didn't want to.
However after the poor prices for hoggets this year, buyers mightn't be fighting over store lambs and farmers would have to go to the ditches to root out the creep feeders to finish them themselves to ensure a proper price

Are they no good of a creep feeder, or are you just talking about creep feeders in general?
