Paint needs a good compound anyway. I'm actually amazed what a good job it did on the wheels.

    That rear quarter panel.

I've two cars. One is washed with super soft mitts, 2 bucket method and snow foam. The other one is washed wherever is cheapest or handiest. Different strokes and all that.

Colm is that the topaz in thomandgate?

Don't worry, it'll be in getting the stone chips on the bonnet done in the new year, will get the rest of the body sorted then too.

The paint is incredibly weak on them. I was on the lookout for one a few months back and bar one they all were covered in stonechips along the bonnet and the front wings.

Yeah, the shape of the front encourages stone chips too.

Pic from the last owner, I'm gonna get the detailing supplies back out of the shed and get cracking on this over the weekend. Better pics then.
    What a car though.

I've always had a soft spot for the RX8, never got to hear one in person unfortunately. I love the doors. Shame about the insurance/tax nonsense and all that. 5 or 6 speed?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

The insurance is very surprising, for now at least. Aviva are only charging €27 for the change from a 1l Micra for the last 5 months of my policy. The tax, while silly is at least only 1.7 rate on the old system.

It's a 6 speed 231. The noise is hugely addictive, this one has a few free flowing upgrades to the pipes. It's not to loud in the car but I've been told it is very loud from outside!

Best of luck with it dude :)

Jebus, unless you were paying over the odds on a micra that's mad. 5*€27 to change to an RX8?

    Well wear.

I think your math is skewed.

€27 represents 5 months so 1 month is €5.40, therefore the renewal for the year should be €64.80 dearer than the Micra.

Just perfect for flooded roads in the desert.

I was only paying €600 for the year on the micra, that's the crazy part!

I guess they figure it'll be off the road getting engine rebuilds more than it is on the road :pac:

Good spot! Not stock but not sure if it’s M Performance or other. That and front grills.
